If we blew them out of the water, we might have been seen in a new light, but barely squeaking by an injury riddled Patriots team is just gonna give the 'experts' more reason to jump on the Patriots jocks and bash us as less than legitimate contenders.
I disagree. They kept their cool against the best coached team in the league, and won a nationally televised game, in their house, to take sole possession of first place in the division.
GOOD! I like when we're underdawgs. If respect sounds anything like what Collinsworth did tonight then I would rather stick a toothpik in my tip.
We weren't expected to win and w/ our backs against the wall on the road in one of those toughest buildings to play in we found a way to win. I don't care if others don't respect us.
Last time I checked you don't make the playoffs or win a division based on respect. WIN IS A WIN, this wasnt the cheifs, it was the freaking Pats
Bullshit. A win is a win. The Patriots are still a good team and this game was for the division lead. We won a game no one expected us too. Games like this are going to happen during the season, championship teams come out on the winning end of them. The Jets did just that. This is a good day in Jets land, no matter how ugly!!!!
I'm gonna watch and see how many of you same guys are gonna bitch over the next couple of weeks when these 'experts' talk us down.... You know you will.
The Jets get respect in that they can now be recognized as a legitimately good team, not much more than that. It's a regular season game in early November, so let's keep things in perspective. A team in position to make a championship run would not have let things unravel to the extent New York did tonight.
I agree. The defense was a liability in the spread. Hopefully the Jets can take this game and learn from it. That prevent D was HORRIBLE. The game should have never went to OT.
Yeah but Tony, we should have gone into the half with an 18 point lead and in my opinion we should have won with at least an 11 point lead. I listen to Sirius NFL radio all the time and watch NFL Today every Sunday and very rarely will any of those programs call out our coaches when questioning the legitimacy of the team. It is well-know that guy for guy, we can't cover WRs consistently yet fear of exposure stopped the coaches from sending pressure on Cassel tonight. We rushed 2 and 4 all game and got some sacks, but Cassel threw for 400 yards and tossed a TD pass with a second left on the clock. This is a problem and it will definitely raise questions. With this win we don't look any better than the Fins. Sure, we beat them in week one but them ended their victory against the Pats for more solidly than we did today, and if Chad had thrown tonight's Cassel-esque pass back in week 1, we'd have lost to them. I just want to believe, but I don't see it yet. If we beat the Titans next week, regardless of how, I think I will have to buy in all the way.
it sux, did you hear the way the nfl network fags, minus eisen were saying how great this f-bag cassel is? f cassel, fnfl network,
I don't know if you guys are watching the post game show on NFL network, but all they have talked about so far is how good Matt Cassel is. It's almost like the Jets didn't win. unbelievable. They just came back with this lead in..."Matt cassel becomes just the 6th player in Patriot history to throw for 400 yards." This is BS.
