What I want to know is why Calvin Pace spent most of the game in coverage? Seriously? If you're going to have someone shadow the TE, use another safety or something. The Jets defense is good, but it is not clutch. It needs to start stopping teams on third down. The reason we don't stop teams is because the third down defense is always overly conservative. Did they rush more than four ever on third down this game? The Jets need to learn how to attack, but they need to be smart about it. They always seem to telegraph it and not send enough to get the job done. The amount of pressure on Cassel in general today was disgraceful.
God it is crazy how Jets fans flip flop every week. Do you forgot how they played against Arizona in week 4? Do you forget last week when they ate STL for breakfast? Those were MONSTER games by the defense. This week, sure they looked a little off. But credit the OC/Bellicheat for running the no huddle and taking Jenkins out of the game. The Jets D is one of the best in the league. They didn't play great THIS week, but you know what, it was the offense's turn, and boy did they deliver! This team is absolutely stacked all around, ALL they need is a credible deep threat.... bring on Clowney
I was watching this game with a Pats fan. ...I bet him the board would be crawling with people pissed off by tomorrow afternoon. Holy shit was I wrong. You wanna know why there wasn't all that much QB pressure? Welker and Moss. The prevent D at the end was maddening but hey, Cassel is playing NFL football. He made some monster plays tonight. Shit happens. We won. Get over it.
Exactly. I didn't think people would be pissed before the game started because I thought we'd win, but the way this game ended, you just know people would bitch. This was dangerously close to a loss, after we dominated early on.
I didn't think the D played awful at all, give credit where it is due and that's to the Pats coaching staff knowing that Lowery was the weak link. He made Jabar Gaffney look like he wasn't one of the biggest WR busts in NFL history. They also did what other teams have exploited this season by using the tight end to move the ball because the WRs have been shut down. Miami did , Buffalo , Oakland and now the Pats.
