looking at the schedule, the only potential national game we have left would be jets vs broncos. The titans game, as mentioned before, is protected. The next week, we play the broncos in our home stadium coming off two extremely tough road games. The broncos, at 5-4 can get to 7-4 with wins over the falcons and raiders. IF we beat the titians it sets up a 8-3 vs. 7-4 matchup between two division leaders. The other potential game that cbs might protect is the pittsburgh vs new england game. If all this happens, and i know its asking for alot, we can still get another nationally televised game. Ofcourse first thing first is taking care of the titans
Certianly a possible scenario but I'm not one of these fans that gets all crazy about the Jets playing on national TV. I mean don't get me wrong, I like it when they get to play on national tv . . . but I just don't care enough about it to worry about it much. (In some ways I prefer sunday afternoon games for them only because I am always terribly anxious for the Jets game and can't wait for it to start and would rather only have to wait till 1 or 4 then till 8:30)
Cutler vs Favre could be a good matchup. I think Chicago-Minnesota is the current scheduled game. I'm living in Tampa and do not have the nfl ticket so I really hope they get a Sunday night game, save me some money by not having to go to a sports bar.
Im a fan of 4 oclock starts. I can enjoy all the 1 oclock games first and then get ready for the main event. Id the Jets play at 1 and lose, it kinda kills me for the 4 oclock games. Sunday night,eh. Thursday night, complete garbage.
If anything I think Jets-Fish or Jets-Titans will be flexed, although Im sure Madden would jizz himself as Favre throws for 800 yds and 6 tds on that porous defense
If it's a night game it will change my plans, I will have to get someone else to go and maybe skip the tailgate, it depends. Otherwise I'm back here unloading the car and cleaning shit up at 1-2 am and I have to work the next day.
(New Broncos fan here) You guys should want the early game. I read somewhere that the winning % for east coast teams hosting a west team in the early game is around 80%. That said, I'm hoping for the late game.
I just bought my tickets for this game. Can't wait to see this team live - hopefully they get a win next week so we're playing for a potential 2nd seed!
They want playoff teams in primetime, duh. My prediction on which games might be moved(Bold = most likely) Week 12: Stays pat(already announced) Week 13: NYJ @ Den or PIT @ NE which ever doesn't get protected(ATL @ SD a close 2nd since NYG @ WASH will be protected) Week 14: Wash @ Balt or Dal @ Pit. Nothing on CBS screams night game. Week 15: Stays pat no way will NYG @ Dal get bumped Week 16: If SD craps the bed then it'll be Phil @ Wash since(NYG@Car is protected & Pit@Ten will be too I guess) otherwise it stays pat. SD @ Tampa Week 17: Den @ SD if the West is still up for grabs otherwise Ten @ Ind might steal the show if Indy is still alive. Car @ NO is a possibility if NO can win 5 out of the next 6.
Oh, I see, you and your crystal ball have determined that the Bills and Dolphins are not playoff teams. Hey genius, the Jet and Dolphins will be playing for the AFC East on the last Sunday of the year on prime time
Not to be thinking ahead too much (since the Titans are next week), but the Broncos game interests me for a couple of reasons: -The Broncos' offense matches up extremely favorably with our defense. They should be able to burn us. -Our offense matches up extremely favorably with Denver's defense. 1+1 = barn burner. -Call shenanigans on this if you want (because its those dang situational stats, which are largely bs), but Jay Cutler's best games (Miami aside) have been at home. He spreads the ball more evenly among his receivers at home while he tends to zero in on Marshall and Royal at away games. The big X factor is the TE Tony Scheffler, though - Most of the Broncos wins involve him seeing the ball. The losses, not so much. With Marshall and Royal, we want to keep both our safeties in deep zones (since we shouldn't need them for run support) but this leaves a linebacker on Scheffler, which could prove costly. So like I said, barn burner. Due to how the teams matched up, I'm more worried about Denver than I am about Tennessee.
Denver is scary for those reasons, but remember, while they can score on us, we should be able to score at will on them. You have to be more fearful of a team that can run the ball and play defense as well as Tennessee on the road than a team that plays no defense on the road. I agree with your general points, but we SHOULD beat Denver. We SHOULDN'T beat Tennessee (but I think we very well may).
