Keep in mind this is the Jets which is why my three week prediction is dependent on what should be obvious.... If the Jets can beat St. Louis Sunday and escape yet another trap they will go on to hand NE and TENN a loss...MARK MY WORDS... lets revisit this in three weeks...
yes because in three weeks i will point to it nobody has to reply it doesnt matter...its just for documentation purposes
I know this could be the curse but I like our chances against the Titans more so than the Bears and maybe even the Steelers. The Jets best strength thus far has been stopping the run which is exactly what the Titans' offense strives on. If we put this game on Kerry Collins' shoulders it's going to make the Jets' job a lot easier, especially since his main targets this year have been Justin Gage (meh), Chris Johnson (when he's in space), and Bo Scaife (scary only until we put either Rhodes or Elam on him). Not having Harris in their is going to hurt us against Johnson and White but Bowens can play the run from the inside and he knows how to occupy blockers. As for our offense, we really have to keep getting Leon involved in both the running and passing game. Short screens, draws, quick pitches to the outside. Anything that'll make the Titans' D-line think twice about getting up-field too quickly. Keep them from pinning their ears back and all of a sudden everything gets a lot easier for the offense. Using Leon to make them second guess their pass rush while feeding them a healthy dose of Thomas Jones between the tackles will open up the passing lanes and put more pressure on their pass-d than they're used to seeing. The key matchups for this game are going to be: 1) Kerry Rhodes v. Eric Johnson (in the passing game) - Johnson can rip through a defense with ease and he's dangerous when he gets the ball. The Titans are going to want to get him involved in the passing game early and Rhodes will be the best weapon to take him out. 2) Albert Haynesworth v. Nick Mangold and Brandon Moore - The guy is a pass rushing beast and Favre has been hit a few too many times for his - or anyone else rooting for the Jets' - liking. If he gets into the backfield our offense is going to be in for a world of hurt. 3) Kyle Vanden Bosch v. Brick - I don't remember last year's game against the Titans but I think Vanden Bosch only got one sack in. That's still one too many when going up against this D. 4) Cortland Finnegan v. Favre - The guy is a ball hawk, pure and simple, and Brett still likes to take chances. This isn't the guy to test. Keep the routes short and shifty, don't let him get comfortable, and dont' show him the same thing too many times. He has the skills and the brains to make the Jets pay. If I've forgotten anything please feel free to add/critique.
not crazy - we expect 6-3... this place will melt down if they lose, but that wont happen. This teams attitude is to the point where we can have winning expectations. Now its time to show it in the stands and the team will show it in the win column. As long as the CS doesn't fuck it up.
Excellent! I never thought they'd beat both NE and Tenn. Now please predict that they'll get a home playoff game and a bye
