I'll take that as a serious question. I've thought about it some, so I hope I can give you an intelligent answer.

It's more than a single thing. First of all, I genuinely like Boston as a city. It's not nearly as big as NY, but it has a lot to offer. And while my wife and I are both from Jersey, she happened to be living in Boston briefly when I first met her, so we have some good personal memories of the place.

The main thing, though, is that Boston fans have an inferiority complex compared to New York, and not just because of sports. NY is just so much bigger and more important, and they know it. People in NY can go months on end, years on end, without ever thinking about Boston and its people. I get the distinct impression it is anything but that way with people in Boston. New Yorkers just don't care what people from Boston think, while the reverse is not at all the case.

Other than obnoxious sports fans, they aren't such bad people, either. Not all that different, if less informed and less intelligent. They kind of remind me of everyone's beer drinking cousin who never went to college. You still love them as family, even if they're not too sharp.

    Hope that helps.

Here's a side question for when Favre (bite my tongue) does eventually decide to retire. Do you feel that Clemens becomes the heir apparent to the job or will the coaching staff have the cajones to open the QB battle between Clemens and Ratliff? It seems to me that going Favre to Clemens is a decisive step back - we've seen what Clemens can do. Why not put the team in the hands of a kid with that's shown a great deal of promise and see what he can do with the talent around him?

I just hope that Mangini and crew won't take the conservative approach on that one...

I think it's pretty safe to say it will be open competition. They would be pretty dumb to just hand the job to Clemens who has proven nothing. And I think we can expect to see another QB thrown into the mix as well.

i could care less if he deep throats favres rod to the balls on the regular, i still hate king. he lives for the pats and despises the jets. even when he has no choice but to compliment the jets, he finds a way to make it a backhanded one. i hope that next time he goes to starbucks for his double homo latte extra douchey that it drops right on his crotch and gives him third degree burns.

And the 12th man award goes to............

"It might have been more than I was up for. But then [wife] Deanna said something to me that made sense. She said, 'Hey, whether you're here one year, two years, or five weeks, whatever, you've got to be committed.' And she was right. I owed it to the Jets to give them everything I had."

Deanna Favre!!!! And she gets to shop at all the fine stores.

Pretty good article , Despite being Douchebag King. Favre's the man and is putting together a great story for the Jets this season. Glad he came back no doubt in my mind.

Tough to think about right now, but I would not consider Clemens a lock by any means.

Oh, I think you misinterpreted where I was coming from. When I speak of the "hate", I'm speaking on a sports level only. I've got family, friends and people I do work for who are from Minnesota. I hate the vikings and the color purple. I don't hate the people from there........unless its an unruly fan.

BTW, has anyone seen Bob Ryan's comments yesterday? He dismissed the Pats/Jets game last week as a ho-hum, the jets were supposed to win anyways. Now he's saying that the titans game was no big deal because we knew they weren't going to go undefeated. You can tell he's totally bent by the Jets' success.
