As much as it kills me to give any Credit to Mike Francesa, he actually said something so true, about how special this Thanksgiving is. No matter where you are, at some point, somebodies gonna bring up the possibility of a JETS-GIANTS SUPERBOWL. How awesome is that!!!!! HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!
Since i have alot of people in my fam who are Giants fans and im really the only Jets one it might be brought up but not by me. Still have a way's to go but atleast now i can defend some jokes with how where killin people.
Turkey day with my pat fan relatives....unlikely....however im sure the Jets jokes will be much less prevalent.
Happy Thanksgiving Joe, I have to say I love the savy Mike Francesa and listen to him all the time. He says it like it is.
Happy Thanksgiving all! Regarding an all NY/NJ superbowl, I hate the idea of it--I hate it whenever we play the giants; even in preseason--its like a mets/yankees world series--who do you think is going to win it? Furthermore, I like the giants--but if they beat us in the SB, thats gonna change. I'd rather like them as my backup team.
Won't bring it up but I'm a bit superstitious being a Jets fan and all. Someone will, but I'll shove a turkey leg in their mouth.
Francesa likes the Jets but I hate his favoritism towards certain coaches. If he knows a coach personally he won't say anything bad about them. He just talks about how good they are and blah blah blah I also don't like how he really doesn't talk about the Jets players. He just says Favre is Favre. Jenkins is playing great. Pass defense is shaky. Jets have had 2 big offensive 50 pt games which inflates the point total. The Giants he says Great offensive line, great running game, they wear you down with Jacobs, then in comes Ward and Bradshaw. Smith is becoming a good reciever, Toomer is underrated, Plax is un defendable, Tuck is a great player, Hixon... I wish he would give the Jets players credit. I don't think he has mentioned Thomas Jones one time all season. He doesn't give Revis credit for being a lock down corner. He just talks about the poor pass defense. He doesn't talk about Cotchery and how never drops passes. But who cares, lol.
No matter where you are, at some point, somebodies gonna bring up the possibility of Let's hope it's not Eric Mangini during the anti-pasto.
I was a Giant fan when I was really young. I was persuaded to be one. Once I wasn't a child and could process a thought I knew my team was the Jets.... but the Giants are a backup team due to my family being all Giants fans. If the Jets ever Changed their name from NY to NJ, I'm going back..... anyway, I would never hear the end of it from them if the Jets lost to them and about how I switched teams.
No offense to you, Mike Francesa, or any Jets or Giants fans but... I live in New York City, and every year the two teams look like they're headed for the playoffs, a Jets/Giants Super Bowl is brought up. Roger Goodell went so far to say that if both teams have to host the championship games, one will be moved to a Monday night so both teams can use the stadium... Every newspaper has been running back page headlines about a Jets/Giants Super Bowl, every TV talking head natters on about it. To me, it's not only a boring topic (made boring by all the people who know nothing about the NFL talking about it) but it has also, in the past, been the Kiss of Death. I don't care who the Jets play in the Super Bowl and I don't care who plays at half-time. I just want the Jets to win the stupid game.
I dont see especially if your from ny/nj how you dont hate the giants already. God, I really do hate that team. A superbowl victory over the giants has been my life long jets dream but god I would be shitting my pants the whole game. The thought of losing to them is too much too bear. Too many freagin giants fans to deal with, cant stand em.
For me, the ultimate would be a Jets/Packers SB. I realize that it's extremely unlikely, especially given GBs 5-6 record. But I would love to see the look on Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy's faces when the "train left the station" as the finals seconds tick down in the fourth quarter and the Jets have a 21 point lead. Ok, back to reality...
