I've always been amazed at how many Jets' fans seem to hate the Giants and vice versa. To me, there really is no rivalry between the two teams as they only play once every four years (I'm not including the meaningless third pre-season game every year) and play in different conferences, with the only chance of facing each other in the postseason being if they both make it to the Superbowl. Personally, I've always kind of liked them. While I certainly don't consider myself a Giants' fan, I root for them as long as them winning has no negative effect on the Jets. In general, I guess I just like to see New York sports teams doing well. So how do people feel? Am I lame for not hating the Giants?
I root for the G-Men when they don't play us. I have friends and family who are Giants fans, and when they won the Superbowl, I partied with them.
Hate em. I hate their cocky fans. I hate their players. I hate that the Jets play in Giants stadium. That being said I don't hate them as much as the other teams in the AFC east. But, I hate them. I want them to lose.
I can stand them a lot more now that they ruined the Patsies' perfect season. I used to hate them though, but most of my reasons have already left the team (Shockey, Tiki, Strahan).
you left out the option for Giants fans. "I am not a Jets fan" heh Anyway, I went with option #2. I dislike them and usually root against them. If they're playing the Cheatriots, I always root for the Giants. A few other cases as well.
Meh. I dont like looking at Manning. He looks like a child, it just erks me. And its the fans that bother me.
i have family that are all Giants fans, and we all get along with our teams... no biggie. We share our hate of the Pats and Eagles.
The one thing I don't like about Giants fans is how many of them tell me they turn off the heat and open the windows while watching playoff games. They say they want to freeze the house to make it feel more like being at the game. Something about that rubs me the wrong way.
Like them alot have watched them almost every week for at least 40years saw them play several times at Yankee Stadium when I was a kid. Love their team and hope we get a chance to play them, they would be a great challenge to our team.
I like them. My father is a Giants fan so I grew up watching them (unfortunately I didn't get to see many Jets games here in Connecticut as a kid).
I cheer for them. I mean, I'll never buy a ticket or go to a bar to watch a Giants game, but when they're on I want them to do well. I just have no feelings of ill will towards the franchise.
I'm indifferent towards them. I hate them when we play them, but absolutely loved the way they beat up New England in the Super Bowl last year.
I'll always root for the Giants as long as it doesn't impact the Jets. That being said, if the Jets make the playoffs, I will be rooting hard against the Giants because they are an excellent team and would tough to beat in a Superbowl if it got that far.
I guess I'm indifferent. But I have looked upon them more favorably lately ever since they ruined the Pats undefeated season earlier this year.
My brother-in-law is the typical fair-weather Giants fan. Never watches them or talks about them in down years, but when they are good, all I hear is "Shockey is the man," "Plaxico is amazing," blah blah.
