Win three in a row and we still win the division no matter what NE and Mia do Win two and almost certainly miss the playoffs Bottom line, our cushion is gone, as is the hope for a bye week. Winning the division (and at least saving a little face on a season that looks ready to explode) is in our hands and nobody else's.
Yeah, let's see what this team is really made of. They should get a nice reality check this week and hopefully they wake up. They are very inconsistent and have been all year. But we've been playing bad as of late, so that means we're due to play better at some point
It has been in our hands since we beat the Titans! It was supposed to be in our hands before today! Do our backs always have to be at the wall before we do ANYTHING as a team? This is looking a lot like 2000.
nah, I don't really see how this season has much in common with 2000. In 2000, we started 6-1 and peaked much earlier. Also, a few of those 6 wins were wild comebacks where we got a lot of bounces to go our way (Monday night miracle and the Monday night NE game at home when we were down 19-7 in the 4th and won 21-19). Also, the main reason for our collapse that year was Vinny Testervarde's league leading 27 interceptions and terribly inconsistent play (including his remarkable 5 interception performance in Baltimore in the last week of the season on christmas eve to knock us out of the playoffs - a game where we had over 500 yards of offense and lead 14-0). Whereas this team has had two hoirribly all-around lackluster perormances in a row after being 8-3 and beating an undefeated team in their building. 2000 was an epic collapse over a larger number of weeks than this season would be IF we did, in fact, collapse and miss the playoffs.
I can't figure this out. Where the hell has the running game gone too? Are Mangini and Schottenheimer just absolutely clueless about how to win games at this point or are they covering an injury on the offensive line? Did D'Brick wear down again meaning the Jets cannot run left? I mean what the hell is going on here? the Jets of the last two games have looked like the Kotite era Jets and there is much more talent on the roster than we had back then. I never thought I'd see another offensive staff that made me long for Hackett and Herm but I'd much rather have those two guys running the show with the talent we have than continue to watch Schottenheimer and Mangini destroy the Jet's chances.
