Matt Ryan is a very rare rookie. I would love to get lucky like that, but I don;t see us picking in the top 3 and there is no gaurentee that pick would be as good. Ryan Leaf anyone?

Flacco has looked good for a rookie, but has very average over all numbers. 13 td / 12 picks. 180 yards a game, a 76 rating. He is not exactly up for rookie of the year, but is doing well enough to win games with that lights out defense.

Do you think we will suddenly have a defense like that next year, or would you just be happy witha QB putting up those type of numbers?

Turner was an every down back who wasn't starting because of LT, his situation is nothing like Leon's

I think Leon is underused by far. I would love to see him getting more touches a game.

That said, he is not a Turned. There is about a 40 pound difference between the two guys. Turner is an every down back who can power through tacklers. Leon is a great change of pace back, but not a true workhorse.

All I'm saying is, the team will probably improve going into next year. The chances of a rookie QB succeeding are better when that rookie is on a good team. It's rare because good teams usually don't get a chance at top-tier rookie QB's. But you see what happens when they do (Roethlesberger, Ryan, Flacco...) -- the rookies, generally, play well.

This is very true and we have an offense that SHOULD be good at not turning the ball over and running well. That said, I still think if we lose favre Mangini runs even more next year then he has this one. 15 carries a guy per game type of running. At least thats what I hope.

I'm a big Leon fan, and agree he needs more touches ... But ...

Leon should have touched the ball 2 more times against Buffalo, and those 2 non-touches almost cost the Jets the game. There were 2 punts in the second half that he let fall and they were both downed inside the 3 yard line. He should have fair caught those 2 punts out past the 10 yard line and certainly had time to do so.

The first one the Jets did drive out to mid-field, and then looked to have another 1st at inside the Bills 40, but holding again D'Brick made called back the 1st and Favre threw the long interception on the next play..

The second one, we were at the 1 yard line and we tried 3 straight passes and had to punt which did roll a bit, but the Bills scored on the drive after that anyway.

He's got to catch those type of punts in the future.

Just got done rewatching the game on dvr, and outside of some poor tackling, I didn't think the Jets played as bad as everyone cried about this week. The field position on those 2 punts put the offense in a bad spot. In the 4th quarter Favre was mis-firing and thankfully Juron called a pass play to bail us out.
