    Also...

Hopefully the Nats don't. I still wanna see him in Boston, despite everything. I DON'T want to see him get the $190-$200 million it may take tho.

Who knows what the real fucking deal is anymore.

So apparently the Yankees are out of it, the Angels are out of it, and the Nats feel that their final offer will be nowhere near the best. Does this leave Boston by elimination?

Sounds like he's going to become a Marlin!

Honestly tho. A deal must be approaching. There are no more suitors, no new offers will be coming in.

    Angels - Out
Yankees - Low ball / out
Nats - don't think they have a good enough offer, shitty team, close to home
Boston - don't think they have a good enough offer, great team, not as close to home
Orioles - Low ball, shitty team, close to home

This mofo has me confused. I don't know what the hell his deal is.

Sounds to me like it will be Boston by default now. The Angels were the only serious competition that I think ever existed. The Yankees don't seem interested and you have to wonder why. This will make Boras look as bad this year as Arod made him look last year. Maybe even worse. There is still some justice in the world.

A-Rod signed for the largest contract in history when there was no market at all for him. I'd say his agent did all right.

Yankees are not out of it at all. They have played this perfectly. They waited and waited and now Teixeria's market has begin to thin out. They clearly value him at a certain price and now the market is starting to come back to them. I would not be suprised at all to see them land him after all of this. They dont NEED him so there is no point in pulling a Sabathia and making a MEGA offer off the bat. They did the right thing by letting the market settle and now its starting to come back to them again.

His agent did nothing. He was not allowed in the discussions. Arod ended up signing for what the Yankees originally offered and not anywhere near the 400 million Boras said it would take. This year Boras apparently lied about other offers to Teixiera and he will be made to look the fool again.

Whether it's true or not we will see. Could just be wishful thinking on his part.

Yanks, Manny reportedly near $75 million deal

"The New York Yankees aren't done spending money yet.

Less than a week after introducing high-priced pitchers CC Sabathia and A.J. Burnett -- and doling out $243.5 million in the process -- the Yankees are reportedly nearing a deal with slugger Manny Ramirez.

Ramirez has told friends that he is confident the Yankees will offer him a contract of at least three years, according to the New York Daily News. A Dominican Republic newspaper, Impacto Deportivo, reported the deal is close and could be worth as much as $75 million."

I WANT MANNY. There is nothing more b oring than 6 months of baseball. Manny would make it way more fun. Not to mention he will drive in 135 runs.

While I don't agree about baseball being boring, the rest of your post I agree with 100%.

Well I understand why you would say that. That would be a nightmare for you. But to say the Yankees are out him is clearly premature.

Cashman denies any offer and I believe that. It sounded like wishful thinking on his part. Of course that could also mean they are engaged in the Teixiera thing.

We've discussed this before bro. I can sit and watch 170+ games a season. I love the sport. I don't find it boring. When the Yankees are playing, if there is any way I can be in front of a tv or radio, I am.

I know most people don't feel that way, but I grew up basically breathing baseball. I love it that much.

I thought Olney knew what he was talking about. This seems to say just the opposite. It sounds like he doesn't have a clue. Teixiera himself told Henry he has better offers? I doubt it. The Yankees had an offer in and then withdrew it? I doubt that even more. The Yankees would have a higher payroll than last year if they did sign him? We all know better than that. He really seems clueless.

Um... that's true. The Yankee payroll would be higher than last year's if they sign Teixeira.
