Did you really think we would be better than 10-6

I think 10 -6 would be about the expectation all along. How come everyone is calling for the coaches head? We were 4-12 last season and turned it around.

Last year everyone screamed for Penningtons head, and then we get Favre, an old man on a new team and we buy into the hype like we are supposed to be what 14-2. I'm sorry i don't get it.

Every season has an ebb and flow, and 4 coast to coast trips are tough on a team. Most bettors stay away from those games, for that reason.

Bill Parcells likes to break seasons down in quarters with empahasis on your division games because the goal is to make the playoffs. So what happened last week was a bad game in the snow, by a team making yet another west coast trip. Football is all about these nuances that make it interesting.

Breaking the season into quarters we were 2-2, 3-1, 3-1, now 1-2 with the possibility of going to the playoffs. the Giants were 10-6 last year. Then won the Super Bowl. The Ravens were 9-7 when they won the Superbowl.

We al had a taste of the top beating NE and the Titans back to back ut this team has shown warts all season, the other coaches know are capabilities as do ours.

We own all the tiebreakers and only lost 1 game in our division so far.
Making the playoffs puts us in a position to have a run for the glory.
    Whats wrong with that?

Yeah we all know we were 4-12 last year. But you take it in stride and I think everyone will agree that losing to SF, Seattle, Oak and stinkers against Denver, Buffalo, KC, and SD has nothing to do with last year. We should have won most of those games.

Every team fighting for a playoff spot has had stinkers. It's difficult to go from one coast to the other, unless it's to play the Lions.

5 years from now if you look at the stat lines only and don't know the situation all your arguments are correct... But I hate Mangini so much, so im not gonna blow up your thread with my propaganda, but ill just say when we were 8-3 and in control of our own destiny , yes i believed we would have more than 10 wins..

When we win this weekend and the Pats lose we have the division. Those West coast trips the past 4 weeks ( back and forth) are tough. If we knew who was going to win based on who should win, we could be rich. It's the Jets, the Jets are drama, always have been. You sign up for it as a fan. The Jets will be fired up after going home for the Holiday and even though they are not that good. They will win and be in the playoffs.

The Jets best hope is for Baltimore to lose. I just don't see the Patriots losing to the Bills. And really, I don't see the Jaguars beating the Ravens. Of the three games, I think a Jets win is most likely.

    QFT.

Well...11-5, like many here predicted early in the season.

Someone should tell the Dolphins that they were a 1-15 team and don't deserve to beat the Jets. Somehow I don't think they will listen though.

The Bills are playing well again, should have beat us, beat Denver last week. Now they are home, that is huge for the Bills, its a division game and there is lots of pressure on Cassell. The Bill will rattle him. They want to finish .500. This is a statement game for Jauron. Edwards is at QB, again huge difference between him and Losman. The Pats have been playing well, but it was almost too easy for them last week. The Ravens are hot, the Jags have packed it in and are on the road coming north to Balt. the Ravens will route them. Our hope, best hope is Buffalo and a wake up call to Mangini and Favre.

I definitely would have "signed up" for 10 wins coming into this season. I'm still happy we got Favre. In hindsight, given how Pennington has played well, it would have been nice to get something for him. But when we released him, I didn't care.

I think we'll beat the Dolphins on Sunday. And if anything, I'm more negative than I should be generally about the Jets. But I just think we'll win and I don't think both of the Pats and Ravens will win.

I just don't see all 3 of those teams with 11 wins.

So I think we're heading to the playoffs at 10-6, and I'll be very happy on Sunday.

When is the last time the bills beat the Pats..never...lol ? there is 0 pressure on the Bills, they wiil not lay down for the Pats. They have one tough game this weekend. The Bills were 5-1 with Edwards at QB. I believe he will start again this week.

the problem with the 10 win thing is that there was a stretch in there that had even the most grizzled darksider thinking this may actually be the year the road to the SB goes thru jersey......

so, in effect 10 wins is kind of a let down from what was thought possible.

9 wins qualifies as a december crash, something we all know too well.

BTW - the road to the SB does go thru jersey, once again, for the NFC

May go through Jersey for the AFC to, Jets win Pats lose. We open at home and all the bad shit goes away.
Then the victories will be that much sweeter.

    No more bad mojo!

I think Mangini has lost the support and confidence of the team. I expect this to result in a disaster against MIA. If I am wrong I will admit.

Well, disaster will mean Chad dinking and dunking his way down the field on us in a replay of the SF game.

But I have to disagree, the defense played better last week and Favre wants what might be his last game to be a good one, he reaches back this week for a good game.
    He is overdue!

Am I the only one who thinks Chad has been throwing good intermediate passes? I've seen many plays from him this year where he's gone deep effectively and made throws to the sideline. He looks to me like a completely different QB.

My big issue is with the fact that we have been so inconsistent. I fully expected there to be growing pains early, but after Tennessee I started to feel that we were hitting our stride. I expected us to get even better and finish strong. I truly can't understand how we managed to look so good, and now we're limping to the finish line??? It's as if it happened overnight. I do buy into the weak coaching angle, but for the life of me, I can't understand what happened to make this team underperform to the extent of being embarrassing. If Mangini and co. are so bad, can anyone explain to me the games we've looked great in... were we just lucky?
