No, this isn't a kneejerk reaction. I've been thinking about this for a long time now. As the monthly bill for NFL ST came in, I began to ask exactly what am I using this for. Answer? To watch Jet games and my wife to watch the Chiefs. As it turns out, both teams suck and have sucked for quite some time now.

This year's latest edition of the SOJ's has forced me to re-evaluate. I don't see myself paying that much money next year to see more of the same. If Woody doesn't make any changes in this CS, I'm cancelling.

I just don't see the sense it it anymore. If I want to catch a Jet game, I'll just go find a Damon's or a Hooters or any sportsbar with the ST. I don't need to waste my money anymore on a franchise that just can't get it right.

DirecTV has made a small fortune off me. I had the HD package too. No more. This sucker has wised up. Going forward with this franchise, I'm either getting enjoyment, or keeping my money in my pocket.

Its Woody's team and he can do what he wants with it. It's MY money and I can do the same..

You'll catch shit from some of the sunshiners here like I did, but I'm with you. I spent a LOT of money on the HD package too, and after this fucking divorce (I married a Vikings fan. oops), money is at a premium. I'll find something better to do with the money.

Woody is out of his fucking mind if he keeps this coaching staff. Luckily it wont cost me any money to watch this clusterfuck next year.

Exactly Biz! My money has a purpose now. After 5 years of the NFL ST, I think I've done quite enough to boost DirecTV's bottom line. If the Jets elect to stay the course, I'm getting off the ST at the next stop. Its cheaper just to go to a sports bar.

Then one of those teams will have a great year and you'll kick yourself in the ass fo not having it..... Unless you can go to a sports bar each week and not spend more than the weekly cost of the package...

I believe it was $329 this year without the HD add-on which was another $69. All for the joy of watching a debacle week in and week out!

I paid $249 and did so in six payments. Therefore, it was not a significant hit to my bank account.

I did not sign up for the HD package, though. That would have been an additional $100.

I do get a bit of a discount because I have been a Sunday Ticket subscriber since 2000.

If you sign up for it next year, it will cost you more than it will cost me.

I don't understand why you guys pay.
I get JETS HD for free OTA along with the other game and/or Giants.

I am a football lover but paying that much just for the convenience of watching another game is crazy especially when you can see the JETS for free.

of Course that's 10 games since 10 are on the road and I'm there for the other 10 but still. Even without season tix that's a lot to pay.

I mean, you can only really watch 1 game at a time...

I hear you, C. I'm keeping mine, though. I'll always watch, lose or lose.

I go to all of the home games, so I've never bought the Sunday Ticket. I figure on Jets home game weeks, the only game I'll likely watch other than the Jets game (in person) are the Sunday or Monday night games.

Then on away game weeks, I'll watch the Jets (who are on local TV), the 8pm, and the MNF game.

So, it's really just like 8 games per year (away game weeks, either the 1 or 4pm game) that I'll want to have that flexibility for.

Of course, there's a little more than that. Like being able to flip, etc.

But there's also howtowatchfootball.com to watch for free on your computer, etc.

I don't think Sunday Ticket is worth it. Actually, given all the free stuff on the web, etc, I don't think cable/Direct TV is worth it. But that's another story, altogether. But who has the time to flip through 9 million channels when you only watch a couple hours per week, anyway. So why pay like $100 for a subscription to mostly crap you don't watch when you can get it all for free on the web like 20 minutes later. Again....I digress...

Everyone doesn't live in the NY market where the Jets are shown plus it doesn't help after a 4-12 season to get many national games. The flex scheduling allowed the Jets to be shown against the Bills and Dolphins here in western PA. Other than that it was slim pickens here so I usually have to go to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the Jets.
