So it's over and we went from 8-3 to 9-7 but if any of you were at the buffallo game 3 weeks ago know we shoulda been 8-8. no, i am not gonna tell you pennington is great, but what i am gonna do is tell you about our pathetic reality. Anyway, we are all pissed and now we are going to go through a painful offseason. we have to wait for what Brett wants to do. ask packer fans what that feels like! and should brett eventually decide not to come back, who is going to be our qb?! lol. matt cassell?

As for mangini, you just get this feeling they are gonna hang on to him and he should be gone for a simple reason. he was brought in to do a job and didnt do it. he was a defensive guy from new england who's system never worked here. we bent over backwards got him some personnel that HE wanted and he couldnt do things with our pass rush and run defense. also, im sorry fellas. i met the guy and he is a selfish prick. omg this guy has no personality and he doesnt deserve to have the sense of entitlement he has. FYI when the jets take road trips, mangini is treated BETTER than Mike T and Woody Johnson. I promise you this is a 100% fact. I have seen it with my own eyes. let me ask you mangenious lovers what has eric mangidiot done? he is less than .500 as a coach. he didn't deserve this job in the first place and has been given WAY too much control here.

look on the bright side. at least we know we are where we deserved to be when it was all said and done. at least we werent 11-5 like the pats and missed out. now that hurts. lol.

    10-6, 4-12, 9-7

that is why he is a sub 500 coach. the 4-12. To be honest with you, when your coordinators do not blitz and your coordinators throw 40 times with a hurt QB, you need better ones.

Let me get this straight. So u dont blame him? U just blame the guys he hired? The guys who he game plans with and whose playcalling he monitors and approves?

Lets get real. Mangini is not a hands-off coach like JoePa. The blood is on his hands just as much if not more than his shit staff

Brett ride into the sunset, You did your thing man. But Mangini? Take a ride into sutton crapper. I Thought u were a great coach in 06 but damn u lost your backbone and aren't the same. I think a change is needed it has been 3 Years and 2 back to back season's of missed playoffs and this season was just collapsed. Something needs to change and i think its our CS. Cowher or Spag is our key.

He is not free of blame because he took these guys but honestly, If you surround him with good coordinators you will see good results. You do not call 40 passing plays when you have a hurt qb and the best running back in the afc. Favre had 20 plus interceptions and they over came it in a few games, you can't blame the coach for everything

To be fair, he did try to replace Sutton. Also.. Schotty was good 2 years ago and wasn't this bad last year.

lol. saying he will do better with better coordinators is saying he failed to hire an adequate staff or oversee his football operations. that is bad coaching buddy. i leave you with this multiple choice question:

    who is an idiot?
    a. the coordinator calling 40 pass plays with a hurt qb
    b. the coach allowing the coordinator to call 40 pass plays with a hurt qb
    c. both the coach and the coordinator

Like i said, he did bring in schotty and was left with Sutton. he brought in Callahan for the Oline and got one of the best running game. There are hits and misses

try to replace sutton? yeah, by keeping him. he even got "more involved" with the defense and they didn't improve.

Schotty got worse with more weapons. that i agree with. but did Mangini not know what was going on offensively? all those shit 4th and short calls? was Mangini unaware? did he not have a hand in at all?

mangini hired 1/17/06. bub sutton hired 2/20/06. he brought in sutton and it was a bad decision he never rectified.

schotty is a sad story. callahan was a good choice for the o-line. but callahan could have been a bigger factor in the preventiion of the ridiculous play calling of schotty. i dont give callahan as much credit as you because his title is not o-line coach, it is assistant head coach (offense)

more misses than hits. end of story

If you've met Mangini, I wouldn't mind some stories about what a tool he is.

You're grossly misinformed. Sutton has been on the Jets since '00. He was promoted when the former DC was dismissed.

you are right. sutton has been with the jets since 2000. i dont think im "grossly" misinformed because your boy mangini did give him the promotion to the dc slot a month after he was hired as head coach and never fixed it. either way, it's not sutton's scheme, it's mangini's. let's not let ol' bobby be the scapegoat here.

Mangini isn't "my boy". I'm only defending the guy because not all the problems are his fault. He's been given the chore of rebuilding a whole team.. that takes time and he deserves the chance to do it.

About Sutton.. Mangini promoted from within when he got here and since Sutton wasn't a bad LB coach (see Vilma), it made sense. Mangini transformed the defense from 4-3 to 3-4, so yes it is him scheme but that doesn't mean he calls all the plays on the sideline. He tried to fix the Sutton situation last offseason, but couldn't find a decent replacement.

I think you're just mad the man didn't want to talk to you.

go ahead take a shot at me. i could care less if mangini didnt want to talk. in fact, i didnt expect him too. but if you were around him, you would get a weird vibe. he's a freak. that i am certain.

trying to take care of the sutton situation?! lol. taking care of it would have been giving him the boot and taking the reigns. if he's letting someone "he tried to get rid of" keep calling the plays, than you have to question him as a leader.

This was the time and his chance. We spent the money and brought in o-linemen, a sick nose tackle, and a hall of fame qb. We started 8-3. He was getting the credit and he let it get to his head and the team's head. We collapsed mets style. He has to eat the bullet on that. This is the NFL and this is NY.
