The Rooney Rule

I would not be opposed to considering him for DC again, but he left on bad terms, it will never happen.

With all the minority coaches in this league, it's time to get rid of that rule.It's total bullshit that that rule exists, anyway.
If they want to keep that rule, i want a rule that every NBA team has to have at least 3 white guys on thier roster.

 

This thread is not predicated on racism, but it is predicated on the apparent presumption by all Jets fans that Bill Cowher is going to be our next coach. Since all fans believe that Cowher is our next coach, we don't need to interview anyone else. Since Cowher isn't black, we have to interview a black candidate so that, by the Rooney Rule, we aren't docked a draft pick.

Also remember when the Lions hired Marriuchi? the whole world knew he was their guy. So no black candidates would go over there to interview. The NFL didn't care, and still docked the Lions a third I believe. It might be a better idea to interview an african american early on (aka, before Cowher becomes involved, if he does so) so to eliminate that rule. If we hire an african american, than more power to him.

This is just all presumption by jets fans that Cowher is the guy.

Can we just hire Cowher and take the fine? Didn't the Lions do that when they hired Mooch?

 

i still dont see why they just dont just call bryan cox up to the office and shoot the breeze with him for an hour or two and call it a day.

They might not sire him as a HC, but but he might make the right defensive coordinator this team needs.
