Until recently, I did not think a trade down would make me happy. However, after thinking about it, I've realized just how many holes this team needs to fill. I would support trading out of the number 4 to nab Denver's 15 and 22.

This way, with our first 4 picks we could address OT, C, RB, OLB/DE (in no particular order). That's top notch talent at each of the above positions.

    Thoughts?

I figured that I would help you out before MParty7441 saw this and called you a dumbass noob and told you to use the damn search engine before you post something that has already been posted.

If you look at the second green bar down from the top of the page, the seventh word say search, if you hit that it will take you to a search page. From their you will can do a search on any of the topics that you want to talk about.

As far as your post, I wouldn't mind at all if the Jets did that. Do worry about MParty7441 he is always on the rag and seems to think that the first post that he did was number 500..

I definitely agree with you yanks... this draft is so deep at so many positions, that the Jets could fortify a hell of a lot of positions by trading down with someone... especially the Broncos who sit in prime spots for players the Jets would like to draft. Let's hope Mario Williams makes it to our pick, because that would make it much more enticing for the Broncos to move to our spot.

I am all for trading down for more picks. According to Scouts.Inc and I am qouting from the ESPN Draft Guide:

"As you may have heard a few thousand times by now, the top of the 2006 draft-Bush, Leinart, Young- is looking pretty sweet. But with impressive day 1 depth , this is also a good year to have a stash of early midrounders. (That goes double for those in the market for line help.)"

Line help (...both lines) thats the Jets.

If we did trade down with the Broncos, which four players do you think we would target. I think the ideal situation would be:

    #15 Winston Justice
    #22 DeAngelo Williams
    #29 Bobby Carpenter
    #35 Nick Mangold

Of course none of these could actually be there by the time we pick so its pure speculation. But if we could get Justice and Williams for the 4th pick i would be ecstatic. What do you guys think?

I would take that trade in a hearbeat. With Denver in the position to take C. Jackson, Moss, Holmes, Williams. I think Denver would be hard pressed to go to 4. Who would they take? Who at 4 would help that team more then a stud WR and RB which they need?

I've heard rumors of Denver really wanting Vernon Davis, who right now is projected at the 6th pick in many mock drafts to go the 49ers. So while it's hard say if Denver would be willing to go that high to get him it's definetly a possibility. Also the 15 and 22 almost exactly equals the 4 on the draft value chart.

If we could get Justice at pick 15, do the trade! DeAngelo will be there at 22. Carpenter or Lawson will be there at 29. And Mangold has a good chance at being there for us at 35. However, if Leinart, Young, or Mario are still there at 4... You gotta take one. They will be the face of our team for years to come.

Which of course, they will be. Since Bush goes top four, one of these must be there at 4.

I would also pull the trigger on the trade, but there is no way of knowing that Justice will be available at 15. That's the gamble. Essentially, it would be like switching Jutice for Ferguson, while adding pick 22.

That trade down with Denver would be enticing. Would Denver give up a solid RB and WR for V Davis? That would be a bold move for them.
I really doubt Justice would be there at 15 either. Lots of draft boards have him going as high as 8 to Buf.
Trading with Ari at 10 is even more enticing as Ari does need a QB. At 10, I'd think Justice would prob be there, and possibly Cutler or Young if they do want to develop a QB.
