If by some act of god Bush fell to us by means of a trade or whatever would this be the end of Martin as a Jet or a at least a starter?
My ideal senario would be for Martin to stay on , on the roster and split the carries giving valuable NFL advice.

if by some act of god we get Reggie Bush, i will do 15 backflips and do the funky dance in front of my family and friends while holding a beer in one hand and a bag chips in the other...then i will walk back to the couch calmly and wait forever for our next pick!

A little disrespectfull there but I understand where you are coming from ,( I think).
If you think Martin is totally washed up , you are wrong. His career is definatley in its twilight era , but IMO he still has something to offer.

Kinda right. He will be there to relieve and teach Bush. It's not like Bush is jsut some fast wind up toy. You can't just turn his key, put him in the field, and he'll just run around scoring. Not in the NFL.

    NOT REGGIE BUSH

if, somehow, we do land reggie bush, there is no doubt that curtis will still have an important role in our offense. bush has never been a workhorse back, and will need some time before he can be in the pros. he will need to share some carries, and having a future HOFer like curtis martin is the best way for him to share. sure bush has the natural talent, but curtis can teach him the intellect involved in the game

it would mean that curtis would get allot less of a workload so he can still stay fresh and run faster on field getting him more yards per carry

what curtis phased out of the offense??? yea right curtis has been one of the most productive and steady backs in the nfl. what proof do you have bush is everdown back there was a certain fellow 1st round back he did share carries with. bush is a electric back but no1 knows till hes on the field

Martin is definitley still a good back, and if we got bush i think we would do half and half. Martin might even have to do a bit more than half, part of bushes success had to do with a good passing game.

If we do draft Bush (by an act of God) then i think this will be Martin's last year as starter, and maybe retire at the end.

Then, after this year we will have our thunder-n-lightning duo for a long time. Houston & Bush

Bush isn't an every down back, he must split carries. Martin isn't done yet. Houston can also be that 2nd punch.

I have been drinking, so please don' take offense but you can take

Stephen Jackson and stick him up your A&*. Stephen Jackson couldn't wash Faulk's jock when Marshall was in his prime and Bush could actually be better than Faulk.

Bush is from another Fu*&ing planet. Don't give me this split carries crap. They will invent ways to get him the ball. Hot air baloons, angry midgets, whatever it takes.

Memo to Jets Front Office .. Bring us one Reggie Bad Ass Bush and all is forgiven.

    Seacrest Out !

not ready to give up on curtis yet. i got the feeling from his last press conf(i think when he restruc)that he was real bent the way last season went down. i look for him to have a strong year. at a much reduced role.

  17. Martin and Bush would actually be a pretty good combo. Martin can still be a very effective workhorse worth 20 carries a game, and Bush of course is the home run hitter.

That's the sort of tough talk the Jets FO needs to hear on a daily basis....would you take on a job at Jets Headquarters to be an abusive drunk? All you have to do is drink a 2 quarts of whisky and 2 quarts of rum every day and then open your mouth. We'll be sure to get Reggie in the draft then.

Martin would still be on the team (especially after his restructure), and still get touches. Reggie Bush won't be the type of back, at least early, who touches the rock 30+ times a game. He'll be spelled. Not that Martin is a great short yardage guy, but Bush will need help in that area. Bush will be on the field often, but Martin will still touch the rock. Heck, they could BOTH be on the field.

Bush is LT * 2. Schottenheimer would love to have LT*2.

If reggie lands to us, i would be in disbelief... Take 2 squigs of beer, scream, jump and say hell yeah... Call everyone i know watching the draft talk about it, then hang up right before number 29 comes.
