I hope Schott stays. He's just got to figure out that it's not all about him, like Rex said at the press conference. One day he'll get a shot at head coach, but right now he should remain a Jet.
Ryan said "Once he got over himself" he realized how important it was to stay where he was. Schotty could do the same.... Whichever way shotty goes I won't mind.
According to Chris Mortenesen, Schotty is just bummed out, he isn't pissed, mort thinks he is a good guy and like Rex would be willing to stay with the team and be a good solider. Mort really thinks schotty is a good mind.
Can someone please give me the 411 on why the Jets or anyone else wants Schotty?? I mean wtf has he done?? NYJ total offense rankings since 06 2006- 25th 2007- 26th 2008- 16th 3rd down percentage 2006- 44% 4th 2007- 38% 26th 2008- 41% 16th Total Points 2006- 18th 316 2007- 25th 268 2008- 9th 405 So his best year overall was this year, even though all I hear is excuses about Farve handcuffing him as an excuse for the anemic offense?? Could anyone explain the interest in this guy?? :jets: :buffaloblows: :finssuck: ats_suck:
As far as I'm concerned..."Brian, there's the door...it's been nice" There are several out of work offensive coordinators who are just as talented..if not more. This team needs playmakers on both sides of the ball..not pouting coaches.
I don't see it either. Maybe it's just everytime I hear his name it stinks of mediocrity; the whole Marty stigma, but either way, I think I'd be more inclined to let someone else give it a shot.
I think you have to judge on more than just stats. If it's just stats than a computer can pick your staff for you. Also, this year's Jets "anemic offense" was actually ranked in the top half of the league (however barely), both overall and in passing, believe it or not. It sounds like you're inclined not to believe it so I'll give you a link so you can check for yourself: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/statistics?stat=teampass&pos=off&league=nfl&season=2&year=2008 I don't know what more to say but that a lot of people were scratching their heads when Mike McCarthy was chosen to be Packers HC after being OC of the 49ers -- one of the worst offense in football at the time. A lot, lot worse than the 2008 Jets offense. Fast forward two years, he's got his team in the championship game, riding on the back of an offense that's ranked #2 in the league, behind only the almost-perfect Patriots.
