First let me say I am a BIG Rex fan and I'm totally stoked to have him as our head coach. Not since Bill Parcells walked the sideline have I been happy about our HC possition.

Now let me say I believe Rex can turn any player around who has the skill and desire to learn.

My first player I believe will become a fixture on the defense will be Ahmad Carroll. He will finally prove the doubters wrong. He can be a good NFL nickleback and even a good CB under the right defensive scremes. A little humbling does the soul some good.

I have lost hope on Gholston and call him a bust as much as anyone else, but my opinion doesn't matter. The only opinion that does is Rex's and he believes. His faith in Gholston has given me a glimmer of hope where none had existed. I don't need to believe in Gholston, I believe in REX!

Thirdly but not least is David Bowens. Rex has a lot of tape on Bowens and will put him in scemes he will succeed in. Bowens still has a little fire in his belly and a little prodding by Rex will tire that into a three alarm blaze.

*Sidenote - Look to see alot of Clowney and Ratliff during training camp and preseason. In a short time they proved they are a good tandum and on the same page. They will get a chance to show their ability and not to mention the FO is high on both these guys.

Gholston yes, Bowens is a ST guy and a decent backup, who came in as a pass rushing specialist, perhaps he can do more with Rex here... Carroll is beyond repair... he is a penalty machine.

I'd love to keep Bowens as a depth player. He did make a number of mistakes when they first called his number to move inside for Harris, but he ended no being a pretty good replacement. Unfortunately, when Harris came back, he only played 'pretty good' himself. I'd like to see if Harris can get better under Ryan.

^ I also want a healthy Harris as well. Is it true he broke his ankle at the end of the season?

I'd like to also see Bowens back, but I wonder if they'll convince him to restructure. He's got a pretty high cap number for just being there for depth.

Yes, a fracture I think. He was on crutches at the Ryan press conference but he should be OK by training camp.

I don't think even Jesus could help Carroll. And Gholston, everyone knows my views. I'm actually more curious to see what Rex can do with Pace and Thomas (if he is still around).

I think Rex could make Rhodes a pro bowl type player again by not putting him 20 yards off of the line. I think he could make Pace a 10 sack guy he had 7 sacks last year & Mangini & Sutton had him in pass coverage all the time. The big question is what can he do with Gholston I think Ryan will let him do what he did well at Ohio State just rush the passer & like Ryan said if I cant get it out of him then he doesnt have it.

With all due respect, I'm not sure you realize how bad he was the last time he had the chance, in GB. The guy was a PI machine, he almost singlehandedly lost games. Everyone can redeem himself, sure, but I'd have a lot more confidence in him doing that if he ever showed me anything much as a CB in the first place.

When a first round pick is cut in the middle of his third season, after playing a few days before, you know it's not just some "incompatible schemes" that's the problem.

Maybe it had something to do with punching a teammate in the back of the head. And if the humbling did some good, he has a funny way of showing it, getting arrested a year and a half ago for possession of ecstasy and an unregistered gun ...

I'm hoping Ryan can make Bob Sutton a decent LB's coach instead of the POS he is today.

I know Carroll had no other doors opening and when the Jets signed him he was happy for the chance to play.

He wasn't on the field much but was always flying around the ball. On special teams play he was always one of the first down the field.

I have more faith in Carroll than I do Gholston and carroll is only being paid league minimum while Gholston holds the team hostage for $20M garranteed.
