If we get Adrian Petersen, Steve Hutchinson, and Jared Allen for him, I'll give up the first rounders.

so what is the deal with trading him? You think we can get a first rounder for him? I say do it...trade his ass and use the pick to draft stafford and move up to the top five

different rumor for a different topic about Favre. They aren't about the same issue with him, its multiple issues.. multiple meaning many.

I guess you guys dont know the FO already knows that Kellen is not the answer. He looked really bad last year & I chalked that up to a bad O line than this year he looked even worse. He could not beat out Chad for the job & than continued to play so poorly that he lost the number 2 job to Ratliff HE WAS OUR NUMBER 3 QB FOR CRYING OUT LOUD HE IS NOT THE ANSWER !

Prove what if he beat out Chad in camp we would not have traded for Favre in the 1st place. The proof is in the pudding he could not get it done the FO already knew Chad was not the answer they wanted Kellen to beat him out & he couldnt than he got outplayed by Ratliff in the pre season.

PSL stunt. And when was Ratliff officially ahead of Clemens?

So you think our owner & GM did not trade for Favre cause they thought he was better than Chad & Kellen & that he thought he could sell more seats ?

If you guys are not going to post anything realistic, why bother.

Brett Favre was traded for (and was worth) a 1st round draft pick in 1992. Brett Favre is NOT going to be traded for (and is NOT worth) a 1st round (or even 2nd or 3rd round) pick in 2009. Last year it was worth risking a pick that high, because he had such a fantastic 2007. Even then he wasn';t worth it to the Bucs (that's why they balked & the Jets got him). This year he won't be, because he had such a poor 2008. So why are we even talking about it.

If this is true which it likely isn't given the source (who also reported just a week ago that KC was very close to signing Shanahan mere hours after Herm was fired) I'd say the only way to do this deal would be to have the Vikings give us the franchise. Being it would apparently cost us 3 1st round picks you need to get 1st round value in return. That's not going to happen which is why this is just another case of bad information by Mort.

Favre is a douchbag, plain and simple. Get rid of him in whatever way is possible. We need the cap space more then we need Favre.
I'll say it again, sign Leftwich as insurence, and let Clemens and Ratliff battle it out. Take the rest of the savings and BUILD A DEFENSE!!!

Obviously we aren't doing that... I think if we do that then there must be a loophole in the contract that we can exploit.
