I think the guy would be a great addition for us... he has the size and speed to be that hybrid linemen olb that we need.... he obviously wants out of Carolina and if we get Ray Lewis there would be more veteranship here so it would probably atract him to come here... He is worth a look i say..

We should get Brian Urlacher and DeMarcus Ware too.

Peppers, Urlacher, Lewis, and Ware. Domination.

Sign Peyton Manning, let Tom Brady be his backup, Chad Johnson, T.O, Randy Moss receivers, etc etc.

It works in Madden. We just need to trade away this year's 7th and next year's 1st rounders.

And Bryant McFadden, and OJ Atogwe, and Byron Leftwich, and TJ Houshmanzadeh, let's sign the best FA at every position!

Hell yes! While we're at it we can sign Housh and trade for Boldin and give him his huge contract extension. And Hell, while we're going after the Ravens' linebackers, let's just get offer Suggs a huge deal.

Don't you think we already have enough cap room tied up in Gholston and Pace? Or did you not even consider that at all?

Why is it that everytime some big-name player becomes available, there are fans that think we should just sign him? The front office isn't playing fantasy sports and there is a little thing called the salary cap for them to consider.

"Let's sign Kurt Warner, Jeff Garcia, Byron Leftwich, T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Julius Peppers, Ray Lewis, Bart Scott, Terrell Suggs, and Chris McAllister!!!!"

Calvin Pace is good, and we should try to develop Gholston (he looks like a bust but sometimes players take longer to develop, especially when switching positions and moving to higher competition), so peppers isn't worth it considering how much he would cost. What we need is to replace Kenyon Coleman....compare his 2008 stats to Ellis and you see a huge difference (8 sacks to 0, less tackles and less forced fumbles). Dwight Lowery is young, he needs to improve his coverage but he deserves to be kept.

Don't try and make normal, serious arguments in this thread. Posting anything else aside from painful, unabashed, near-war crime intensity sarcasm should be a ban-worthy offense.

You people are absolutely ridiculous. This thread is ridiculous. I mean, why restrict ourselves to the best FA players available? Clearly, we should trade for every top player at every position, restructure their contracts so that they're working for the veterans' minimum. For example:

Trade a bucket of shrimp for Adrian Peterson. Restructure his contract down to $400,000 a year. Reap the benefits. It's so simple! How could this possibly not work!?!

Everyone is hating a little too much here. I heard on ESPN that Pepper's wants out of Carolina and into a 3-4 Scheme so maybe it isn't completely impossible. I sure wouldn't mind seeing him in a JETS uni though.

it's not 'completely' impossible....but our current salary cap situation isn't doing us any favors. I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Peppers is going to want big dollars. And he will get it. Do you really want to hamstring the budget for one big splash? While moving him to a new position?
