    The Buccaneers have just released

    - RB Warrick Dunn
    - LB Derrick Brooks
    - WR Joey Galloway
    - WR Ike Hilliard
    - LB Cato June.

Really thought Derrick was going to retire a Buc. Properly saved them a lot of cap room

I thought Brooks was going to be a Buc for Life. Warrick Dunn will land on his feet. Great man off the field. Catu June was a shock since he was just signed 2 offseasons ago coming off the superbowl win from Indy

How long before there are multiple threads on why the Jets should sign each and every one of them?

Cato June might be a good depth signing. Other than that I'll pass.

Derrick Brooks is an undersized OLB in a Cover-2 4-3 scheme. He would be a terrible fit. Plus, I doubt he's all that interested in learning a new position at his age.

Care to elaborate? Or are we just supposed to know the brilliance of your thought process?

couldn't agree more... we need to get younger and faster at the position.

He's a tampa 2 linebacker, he can't play in any other scheme, and he isn't even good in the tampa 2, he fits nowhere in the 3-4 defense.

I am surprised by Brooks. I thought he'd retire a Buc. He was Pro Bowl this year, though I think it was likely more on reputation.

I wonder why not finish the house cleaning and dump Ronde Barber ? He's old as dirt and has definitely lost a step in the secondary.

Bucs didn't do this for cap room. They lead the NFL right now with something like 55M before the cuts.

Surprised to hear Tampa is ditching the Cover 2 (as per the ESPN article). They're pretty much annually a top 10 D and I'm a believer in the 'if it ain't broken don't fix it' cliche. Whatever, their problem now.

Also, none of those players have a place anywhere on the NYJ.
