Thank you for your suggestions...Larry Fitz is definately worth atleast a first if not more...easily.
At least 4 of Edwards' drops last year were passes that he was wide open for, well in behind any defenders and sure TD's... if only he could catch the ball. I remember watching him talk about it in an interview last year. He lost all confidence in his hands, especially when he was wide open and had too much time to think about catching the ball. Sort of a Knoblock (spelling) mental problem (remember how he could not throw the ball to first base?) The Jets can not afford to have a WR with the worst hands in the NFL, not in this offense. Dropped TD passes will NOT be something this run oriented offense can afford to absorb. This year when the Jets throw deep to a wide open reciever... that has to be caught and go for a TD. McCariens has better hands than Edwards for crying out loud. Anyone want alligator arms McCariens back?
2007 - calvin johnson 31 games 2087 yrds avg 16.6 and 16 tds on a horrible team with qb problems. and of those 31 games he didnt start in 5 of them. i think the jury is in on him.
Braylon Edwards SUCKS has no heart, alligator arms and a locker full of Kotex, no way we give them anything for a player that was exposed the way he was last season.
That was a BullSh!t trade. At least three teams would have given a 1st round pick for Cassel. The Pats should have traded with the Broncosa who would have gave more than a 1st.
Dropped passes can be cured a lot of the time. McCareins obviously left a bad taste in our mouth but he is not the rule. Edwards is a dominating tall fast WR, and if you coach him properly the dropped passes will go away. He has the ability, he just needs the coaching.
I knew he dropped passes, but I had no idea he was that bad.. Well in that case I definitely wouldn't give up a 1st or 2nd for the guy..
he had regressed alittle. people where very high on him going into 2008.i have no problem acquiring him for BT and a 4th. bt is very expendable.
We need a WR, what we have won't cut it. You might want our younger guys to do well but we have to be realistic, most young players do not turn into the players we need. Late rounder or undrafted players rarely make it pass a few years in the NFL. I know people are high on Clowney (and Ratliff) but we seriously need an #1 WR. I think we have to go after Edwards, Harrison, Holt (if he is released), or even TO.
I would agree to an extent, but I simply don't think B Edwards has the hand-eye coordination to overcome the problem. He runs good routes, can get seperation, can get yards after the catch, but he just can't catch the ball. Last year he was working out with coaches and some kind of passing machine, but failed to improve... in fact he got worse.
I agree Calvin Johnson is legit and Dwayne Bowe too, but what about Ted Ginn Jr, Robert Meachem, Craig Davis, Anthony Gonzalez?
A lot of the time the problem is concentration, and it seemed like Edwards wasn't the only Brown with a concentration problem last season. Personally, if we can get him for any kind of a reasonable deal at all, and he pans out... then we picked up a top 3 draft pick quality player... well worth the risk. Better risk than TO, that's for sure.
