Jay Cutler from the Broncos, or the number one overall pick from the Detroit Lions used on QB Matthew Stafford?
Why no easy out in this poll? I want neither. Cutler will be a distraction, and the # draft pick wil earn to much $.
I see no equal value on our team for Cutle, and how do you determine equal value for the #1 pick in the draft?
I'm saying if we were to give up equal value to either team. For example, if we were to trade our 2009 first and third round picks, and our 2010 second round pick to either team, who would you rather have?
At gunpoint I would pick Cutler. I still don't see the equal value in draft picks. We could be giving up the farm for a player that, in Cutler's case, may not want to resign, or in Stafford's case might not fit in our sytem.
I agree, but the reason I chose Stafford is because he is a few years younger, it would help the Jets build their own identity, and because Cutler is arrogant, could tear apart the locker room, and bring distractions to the team.
He is saying if the Jets had to trade the same amount for that player. Would you rather trade 2 first round picks for Cutler or Stafford? I think the answer is obviously Cutler.
This is so dumb its not even funny, with rookie salaries going through the roof (but a cap coming) and so much uncertainty I dont see how betting on a QB (who may only live up to Cutlers potential) is not better than having a sure thing
Cutler in a heartbeat. Nobody is even predicting Stafford or Sanchez will even be any good in the NFL. They just happen to be the best of a very lousy class of QBs this year.
Agree completely with this logic. Cutler has proven he can lead an NFL offense. While he may not be the prototypical game manager that a defensive coach like Ryan would want, he is hands down the better option of the two.
That's a good point. An overall #1 QB may cost a team over 60 million bucks with at least half of it guaranteed using Russell as the litmus test. That's a hell of a risky bet when you compare it to the alternative. I read where Denver wouldn't even trade Cutler for Detroit's pick just for that reason.
