Heres my reasons 1a) williams easly would replace abraham(vince young would give us the playmaker we lack) 1b) manny lawson(OLB) would step in as the final LB needed for the 3-4(eric winston would help us tremendously at o-line) 2)McNeil would add more depth and talent to our o-line 3a) Stovall is a Big reciever with great hands who would be a great addition to our passing game 3b) jacobs was a highly succesful ncaa QB who, although is a project, has great potential(Adeyanju is a big de who would fit in both a 4-3 and 3-4 scheme) 4) NORWOOD is a extremely fast and quick back with great vision who is not afraid to take it up the middle.
i love Mario Williams, but I would feel confident with Vernon Davis at #4. He's faster than Antonio Gates and is even more athletic, has great hands. Would you take Gates with the 4th overall pick? I think I would, especially when you had the most anemic offense in the NFL last year and an aging running back who's pretty much finished...
4-D'Brick/ trade down and get cutler 29-lawson/ wimbley 35-Addai/ if we got cutler than mcneill/Winston 71-Croyle/if we got cutler than jerious norwood 97-Eslinger 4th-babatunde O 4th-Anwar philips
Comment: Can't wait till the friggin draft is over. Prediction: 4 - Mario or Brick (whoever NO does not take) 29 - Mangold 35 - Carpenter (if he is there) And I think they are seriously looking at that QB Kellens (his name escapes me now). Other than that I have no idea. The FO is so secretive, I really have no friggin' clue.
PLEASE NO CROYLE WITH OUR SECOND ROUND PICK! he is overrated. it would be much more worth it if we get a linebacker or addai or something. just not brodie croyle! this is what i think will happen 4- mario or d'brick (whichchever NO doesn't take) 29 - nick mangold (center for us is very weak) 35- if Mario NOT taken bobby carpenter to run a 3-4 if Mario taken, joseph addai and run a 4-3
Jets trade down with niners!! we get: #6 & #22 they get #4 & #71 # 6 Vernon Davis #22 Deangelo Williams #29 Nick Mangold #35 Marcus McNeil/ Bobby Carpenter i would say get out a pen and paper and write that down...but i dont want to end up like RobA!!
actually..i would prefer to sleep until 15 minutes before the draft...wake up...pop some pop tarts in the toaster, make some bacon and hash browns, and a nice cup of coffee and then plop down in front of the tv...that sounds much better then waiting one more weeks and listening to this crap...haha...who with me?
This I definately agree with you on. The Jets have sent enough mixed feelings on the QB's/D'Brick that I think they'd be more than willing to trade out of #4. Also if they want to get Lawson, Wimbley, or Carpenter I think they'll have to trade up from #29. With New England at 21 and San Francisco at 22 (both 3-4 D's). I could see them trying to trade up. For what its worth pick 29 and 71 = #20 based on the PVC. Also since Tangini seem committed long term, I could see the Jets trading out of #29 if it resulted in the right combo of future picks. There have been rumors of Washington wanting to trade up into the late 1st for one of the CB's. If they are willing to deal #53 with next year's #1 (like they did last year with Campbell) it's an interesting offer.
When all said and done Jets are not drafting a QB with the 4th pick Hell the Jets are not even thinking QB in the 1st rd. IMHO QB is either make it or don't make it.... That is 50/50 with QB's who have questions They are not going to invest more money in that position Think people Yoe have Chad and his money then if you draft a QB with the 4th pick, you're most expensive players will not be on the field, but holding clipboards I don't think the Jets are in a position to have $50 million dollar + players watching the game on the sideline.
Substitute coffee for beer, and bacon and hashbrowns for week old pizza and that sounds about right for me. The pop tarts can stay though.
