    its beyond rare.

our imaginations and hopes are making these QBs better than they are.

um... this is worded poorly... Yes we have 3 real live NFL QB's on our roster. Do we have one with the potential to be a franchise QB? not as likely.

The chances that we have the next Tom Brady on our roster? 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001%.

Tom Brady is a future HOF, he is considered by some as the greatest who ever lived (i dont agree but my opinion doesnt matter in the grand scheme of things) so yeah, the chances we have the next him on our roster are so close to 0, its not even funny.

Nice thread, I'd say about a 35% chance KC will work out.
Then I'd say about a 40% chance Brett works out.

So I guess my answer is the 25-50 section.

I'd say 25% chance. Most of that 25% being in the hands of Clemens... People here are praising Ratliff because of two preseason throws he made last yr it's unreal...

Neither here nor there, but the opinions of those who consider Brady the greatest who ever lived don't matter in the grand scheme of things either.

...sorry about the wording... I didn't go to Yale..like you must of..

....I know we DON'T have the next Brady or even close, but the point of the thread was that I don't like the odds that we even have a QUALITY NFL QB currently on the roster, I'd love to see KC or Ratliff make it, but I don't like the ODDS!!!!

considering this is a message board with text only, all we have to go on is the wording.

If you meant quality QB but put Brady, we are going to think you mean the next Brady.

The problem is that you ask one question in the poll, then allude to brady in a question in your post. Do we have a NFL QB on the roster? Probly. Is he the next Brady? Much less likely.

Its jsut a matter of confusing the people on what they are voting about.

Ratliff will better than Brady and steal Giselle from him.

..my apology on the "wording" , in the poll I asked Quality NFL QB, I only put Brady in my message because many people on this board believe that the Jets can hit the Lottery like the Pats did...being an old timer, I realize that the odds are a million to 1 against that, but honestly, I believe the odds are less than 4-1 that we even have a "quality" QB on the roster now....

What are the "odds" that the internet encourages the overuse of "scare quotes" because people want to express verbal intonations through grammar?

Human nature is such that if you don't have proof positive about a player's abilities, you write him off. Brady and Warner came out of seemingly nowhere to win rings. I'd like to see Ratliff get a chance, as opposed to whatver Disgruntled Veteran Of The Week that's getting headlines for all the wrong reasons.

he made more than two throws. he made 2 highlight reel worthy passes for long tds. i know not everyone knows this but he did more than what makes it onto youtube. im not trying to say that he isn't overrated because he probably is, but i watched him on a lot more than those 2 passes and he was impressive throughout. no reason not to give the guy a fair shot.

As expressed in Ye Olde Signature.e.

Everyone acts like those two passes are all he did, but you can take them away, because they aren't what showed promise about him - They're what supposedly showed promise about Clowney, but no one ever questions Clowney "just because he beat some second teamers". Oh no, Clowney is fine and great and dandy. Ratliff though? Pffft, those were second teamers. Clemens against those same second - You know what? Why the fuck am I typing this out again? Just click on my fucking signature.

The real question should be does anybody on this board think there is any possible chance that any of the QBs we currently have will lead this team to the superbowl? Isn't that what it should all be about?

Personally I don't think there is any chance at all that any of them could.

I agree it is much more likely that they will not get it done than they will I hope I am wrong.

Tanny & Schott have seen KC & Ratliff for a miniumum of 2 years, (Ainge,I believe has no chance), my belief is that they are playing it close to the vest, but will either:

    1) make a play in the Cutler sweepstakes
    2) sign a vetern like Leftwich
    3) Draft Sanchez or Freeman

The odds all depend on Brett Ratliff's performance.

Anyway, he's going to get the job, and Mark Sanchez will be his understudy for at least this season and maybe the next one, if Ratty shows his pre-season form in the playoffs.

Unless Cutler miraculously comes to the team, Ratliff, for good or bad, is now, and Sanchez is the future of the Jets.
