OK, I was talking to one of my friends who is a HUGE cowboys fan, and he told me of a rumor he saw online. He had the link saved for the message board he read it on, and is looking up the actual article for me, and I will post that as soon as I get it. Cowboys Trade #18 pick overall in 2006 draft, first round pick in 2007, and QB Drew Henson to Ny Jets for #4 overall in 2006 draft. message board link - http://www.footballsfuture.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=60756 I dont know how I feel about this, but it does give us a few options- Option 1: Stay at #18 and 29 (Deangelo Williams, Nick Mangold, Manny Lawson, etc...) and stay put with our both picks next year Option 2: Stay at #18 and 29 (Deangelo Williams, Nick Mangold, Manny Lawson, etc...) Then, trade up with our two first round picks next year in hopes of getting Adrian Peterson, Brady Quinn, etc... Option 3: Trade #18 and 29 (1540 value chart points gets us to between #6 and 7), getting someone like Vince Young, Vernon Davis, etc... and stay put with our two picks next year. Option 4: Trade #18 and 29 (1540 value chart points gets us to between #6 and 7), getting someone like Vince Young, Vernon Davis, etc... Then, trade up with our two first round picks next year in hopes of getting Adrian Peterson, Brady Quinn, etc...
Wait thats it there not throwing in Demarcus Ware or Roy Williams? Thank you but no thank you. NO WAY IN HELL do i even return the cowboys phone call if im tannenbaum. If Tannenbaum were to do this trade I would take back every compliment towards him I have ever made. I dont know the draft chart but Im pretty sure Drew Henson and a 1st next year doesnt equal whatever amount of points. Especially when they are possible Super Bowl contenders 4 next year
jerry jones is a fucking joke with this trade offer if this is true.. #18 is worth 900 points on the draft value chart.. #4 is worth 1800 points... but considering the firepower at the #4 spot in this years draft, we would need overcompensation to do this trade.. meaning we would need #18, along with their #1 pick next year and a useful player... i would even take #18, ware or jones, and a 2nd or 3rd round pick.. otherwise just tell jones to go fuck up another relationship with another hall of fame coach..
The cost of trading up to #4 for Dallas would by ridiculous. Honestly unless they were desperate enough to deal the 06/07 #1's and Julius Jones I can't see anything making sense for the Jets.
We have no need for Henson. Pick #18 and next years first rounder just isn't enough in my opinion for us to give up #4.
No way, they would need to give us their 18, next years 1st rounder, and ware, or picks that would equal our first.
That would be the worst decision I have seen a pro franchise do in a while, Henson would have trouble making out roster, and we drop a ton of value, absolutely no way
The cowboys will be in the playoffs so tnext years pick would be somewhere around 20 and 18 for 4 , naw i wouldnt do it unless maybe they give a second rounder, some more picks and they keep Drew Henson.
Keep Henson. Bollinger > Henson. Jets give: 06 #4 overall pick Cowboys give: 06 #18 overall pick + 06 3rd round pick + 07 1st round pick I'd consider that deal.
Another bogus trade deal. Who values Henson, even in the slightest? Still, with an extra 2nd rd pick I would do it all the same.....
