Highley unlikely that the jets trade for a veteran player, and it sounds like the jets are not planning on moving up in the draft, but he never gives you anything to work with so well just have to wait and see!
Some highlights: -Our plan is to draft at 17 -We're looking at all options (trade up/trade down) but according to all the experts the most value in this draft is in the middle of the first round so the Jets are in perfect position. Unless something unsual happens they will stay put at 17. -A lot of teams trying to trade down out of the Top 10 because the financial implications the economy has had on the way teams are spending. -Very focused on the draft and not picking up a veteran player on draft day. Highly Unlikely that they will trade for a veteran player in the next 48 hours. They will still consider signing veterans but that will be put on hold until after the draft. -Francesa thinks we won't trade up for Sanchez. From all I heard I think we draft and get great value at 17.
I disagree with what Mike(Francesa) said about getting "i don't think they will trade up for sanchez" outta all that. This is why i dislike him sometimes, he thinks he's Freud or something.
Thanks for the update. Who knows what to believe at this point. If what he is saying is true (big if). I am thinking Pettigrew or DBH at #17. I would prefer Pettigrew.
A bit too much talk about Pettigrew for me to think he's the pick. I'd say Moreno is a much more viable option given the lack of discussion on him lately from our FO. Of course, saying that we're standing pat and ready to pick could force teams to trade up. The Giants, for example, have been talked about as a trading partner for the Chargers. They want DHB. By releasing our interest, we push them into the spot and move the Chargers, who could be looking at a RB or CB.
he said we may trade up if the value is there---------or we may stay at 17 if the value is there------- or we may trade down if the value is there i didn't expect him to say anything else
I love RB Brown from Conn if we can grab him in the 2nd i'd love it. Pettigrew or a defensive guy in round 1 suits me just fine. NO WR's IN RD. 1!!!! Mike T is a waste to listen too, anyway. Never gives anything but the patented answers. Grabbing a veteran QB is a waste since all the decent one's are already signed. I think if we were gonna do that we would have already. Unless the pick up a guy like Boeller or Grossman on the cheap.
Wouldn't waste my batteries listening to Tanny. He never gives a straight answer or talks like a human anyway, but before the draft, someone with Alzheimer would be more informative. I am Draft info'd out. I am going to Fl. Sat. morning. Brining my Sirius, will be listening to Siruis NFL radio by the pool with my cooler. Its all BS
"We will consider all options which include staying pat, trading up if there's value or trading down if we like someone later in the round." That's all they needed him to say- interview over in 12 seconds.
Well, if nothing else at least we know Tanny recognizes where the value in this draft is.... Sometimes you have to wonder... But, honestly, I think all the Jets recent drafts have at least been logical. I haven't agreed with every pick but, each one other than Schlegel made sense.
Have at you man! We were lucky enough to land the only LB who hunted wild boar using only a rambo-style knife. How many other teams can say that?
So he should go on the radio the day before the draft and tell the entire league what the Jets are planning to do? Great idea!
i guess i must be one of the only people that actual prefers that tanny be cryptic about the whole thing.
I'm not sure what people expect him to say, we are taking DHB, and then wait for someone to move ahead of us and snap him up. Makes perfect business sense not to tip your hand
