I feel like the only person who is scared shitless of drafting Sanchez. He doesnt have a ton of experience and if we do draft him that high we're gonna have to pay him crazy $. If this kid turns out to be a bust it could sink this franchise for years.
That won't be enough as either Seattle take him or trade to redskins. We may trade for Quinn , but i think we trade down in first and pick up some extra picks then trade our 1st plus B Smith. We then trade back up in early 2nd round to pick either Britt or Robskie
Do you think Mangini would really trade with us after we chased him out of town? I don't know but I doubt it.
I think Mangini wants his guys from our system. I wouldn't be shocked if Cleveland parted with Brady or a pick for a package of his guys. A 1st, 3rd and David Harris is WAY TOO much for the 5th. I'd say 1st, 3rd, 5th and Harris for their 1st and Brady Quinn. That sounds more reasonable...imo
I don't see the Jets trading a player this late in the draft process. Usually these things happen before the day enough (trading draft picks that involve a player). Money issues etc will hinder it from happening. This would be an abyzmul trade in my opinion. The Jets CANNOT part with Harris. He IS their defensive leader and a lockerroom figure. The locker room would absolutely turn on Ryan if this happens.
I'm not buying that. Scott owns this lockerroom now by design. As long as Rhodes and Revis and Jenkins are in, the rest will follow. Harris isn't that importent from a lockerroom standpoint, imo.
If the Jets trade up for Sanchez and he doesn't pan out, they are in huge trouble. Things will be exacerbated if Gladys Gholston continues to suck. Trading away multiple picks to move up to draft a QB who ultimately busts? That move being made one year after drafting a 3-4 edge rusher at 6 overall who can't rush passers? Goodbye, Tannenbaum. That'd be the end of him.
I don't think Mangini would have any qualls about trading with us, we know he loves Smith and players like Harris and Eric Smith. If we trade for Sanchez it will be a mistake IMO, if we come out of today with Brady Quinn and a receiver, as well as some depth and a blocking TE, then the job has been done.
I really don't think there's anyone worth trading up for. I know its hard to imagine, but you can get good guys in the late first, second and third rounds. You're not gonna be able to move up without giving up the farm, and no one's worth it.
Like so many people have commented so far, and nobody here seems to listen to, the value in this draft is in the middle-late first rounds. Just look at that contract Stafford got, 40 mill guaranteed and he hasn't taken a NFL snap, it's complete madness.
