Depth Chart: New York Jets ( Last updated: Sun, 26 Apr 2009 07:13:16 -0700 ) > http://www.kffl.com/nfldc.php/27/nfl
Seems to me like we have adequare depth in the secondary. I would expect Marques Douglas to beat out Kareem Brown for RDE. But probably a little thin at DE. I think we should be prepared for adding a DE and WR after the June 1st cuts.
A few things are wrong. David Bowens now plays for Cleveland. Marques Douglas would be the starting RDE. Kareem Brown would be his backup. They were also trying Brown at TE. They are missing DeVito. They are missing Howard Green. The DL we signed from Seattle.
The only players we should list right now are the starters... depth mostly depends on how camp works out... especially with a new coaching staff coming in.
During the recent mini camp they reported Kareem Brown had lost 25 pounds off his 2008 playing weight of 290 in order to play tight end. If he is at 265, he's going to have a hard time playing DE in our system. http://jettingaroundwithlisaz.blogspot.com/2009/04/kareem-brown.html
Pretty scary at RDE and WR, no starters or depth, seeing Clowney being a starterhmy:, I agree Sanchez will be the #1 QB...
The reason there is no depth at RDE is because they have Douglas listed in the wrong spot and they don't have 2 players listed on the DL.
Huh? He started for the Ravens. The only knock on him is age. He is equivalent to Coleman, maybe slightly better.
Douglas 36 tackles and no sacks last year...we can do better...games started - zero, he's a quality backup, probably better than Coleman...
First, Ryan coached Douglas last year. So if Ryan is comfortable with him starting that is good enough for me. Second, he was a 3-4 DE. It's not his job to get sacks. Third, I have no idea where you are going with this conversation. I was pointing out how this depth chart is wrong in many areas.
That's nice, but that wasn't my point. I was discussing this particular depth chart and it's inaccuracies. You are going off on a tangent debating the quality of each player. In any case, Ryan knows this guy better than anyone.
