This is exactly what somebody would say about us. Just Avery being Cotchery of course.

Greg Olsen is good but I think Dustin Keller is going to be better in long run. They have depth in TE which we don't though Desmonde Clarke is a veteran backup

Well, I see your point, but I think there's a subtle difference.

First of all, J-Co is a proven commodity. Yes, he was slowed by shoulders last year (his and Brett's) but we've seen him play enough that there is no doubt he should put up close to 1,000 every season.

Not so much with Avery. He had a decent year last year, but he didn't break 700 yards and he scored three touchdowns. I wouldn't put him in the same class as DeSean Jackson or Eddie Royal in terms of rookie success.

As far as the supporting class, I firmly believe Chansi Stuckey will step up, and I'm confident that Clowney and Smith have a chance to do the same. In St. Louis, Keenan Burton is the only other young guy with any potential. Beside that, Eddie Kennison, Dane Looker, Drew Bennett and Dante Hall aren't scheduled for any breakout years.

So, yes they are similar situations, but I'll take Cotch over Avery, and the rest of the Jets corps based on youth and potential.

All this being said, we don't have a clear cut #1 receiver, we have J. Cotch, a solid number two, and Clowney and Stuckey. I don't see how anyone could argue this is a legit receiving unit. We def need help at WR.

Not to mention that Avery compares better to Clowney than to Cotchery. Well said. Who says Eddie Kennison can't breakout? Is it the fact he's 36 or the fact he's not on a roster? Our youth at the position could turn out to be our biggest asset if any of those guys step up.

No it's not. Their WR situation currently is horrible and has been horrible for a while now. No one that puts any fear into the opponent. Their WR situation sux and finally better be addressed.

I'd take Lee Evans or Terrell Owens over Cotch. He's my favorite player, but those guys are elite, top-echelon guys. COTCH IS NOT A NUMBER ONE. He's a phenomenal #2, but if we don't go WR in the first or second, we'll regret it. The more I see on Nicks and Britt the more I think they can both me #1 guys. DHB, no so much. Harvin, maybe.

You want to change this after the draft. Maybe after Raiders cut a WR , you can pick him up. Lets see Chaz Schilens 6'4 225 4.38 44 inch vertical , Arman shields 6'1 195 4.38 - has great hands and runs great routes. Johnnie lee higgins 5'11 185 (smaller version of Maclin) , Darrius Heyward-Bey 6'2 207 sub 4.3 , Louis Murphy 6'2 205 4.38 Javon Walker 6'3 215 ( look awesome against the jets before getting hurt ) Don't forget the next probowl TE in afc that Gonzalez is gone.(Zach miller. Don't forget RB Darren Mcfadden who will be moved outside alot to take advantage of his recieving talents.( just couldn't use him in that role as he was rather limited with his injury)

Choose your poison - load up to stop the run. Watch Raiders score six quick points on you. Back those safetys up and watch the Raiders run it down your throaT-

Every team you just listed looks at the Jets and says, "We have a better situation than they do." In fact, on paper, I'd argue only Oakland, St. Louis, Tennessee, and Chicago are on our level.

Comeon Take the jet color glasses off. The jets have the worst WR corps and its not even close. Those other teams addressed the Wr position. Jets are so desperate they called a guy thats going to be playing for the prison team.

I disagree with the post saying we have a worse receiving corps than the OP, and you say I have Jet colored glasses.

And the Raiders' receiving corps are still pathetic, even with DHB. He's not ready to produce. Chaz Schillens means nothing to me.

The great Gil Brandt like both Raiders selections in the first two rounds. DHB not ready to produce? Are you serious. Hes the speed threat to stretch the field. Not very complex routes he going to be asked to run. Oh I forgot what would jet fan know about a Wr that can stretch the field.

You don't believe your Wrs situation a joke, maybe you should watch that raider/Jet game again. for a reality check. I didn't see any Jet Wr's in that game. Sad part is you lost the best one you had.

The majority of those teams who may have better receivers than we do don't have a better running game/line, and none of them have a better tight end.* DK will have a pro bowl season!

After the draft, we have a worse situation than at least 75% of the teams previously listed. Damn.
