Let's hope we've found our franchise QB...being a Jet fan, I know that it's very easy to be skeptical. Let's keep our fingers crossed that we've found our franchise QB and not another first round bust (which is entirely more likely). Not the best Photoshop job, I know...
I'm saying atleast 6 years, we would not have made the move that we did if we didn't think this guy can lead us for a long time. I can also see him spending his whole career here. I don't see Big Ben or Carson Palmer playing anywhere else for that matter, so why not Sanchez.
I think he's gonna be here for a long time...the current regime will be very successful at some point (if not immediately). It's a new era of Jets football folks
we won't see it in maybe his last 2-3 years as a pro. Trivia: Which Jets QB drafted in the 1st round has no playoff appearances??
I think if we have a couple more of good drafts like the ones we have been having since Tanny is here we might actually turn out to be a real force. We are one WR and one DE away from being, looking at the roster, a top notch team (if Gholston pans out).
haha, very good. I'll rephrase - which QB that started a game has no playoff appearances? the answer is none. All Jets 1st round QBs have made the postseason.
Unless you count Sandy Stevens in 1962, but that was the Titans.....I saw that graphic the other day.
I started thinking about Nagle and Favre and it made me remember that supposedly, when he was with the Jets' front office, Wolf targeted Favre and really wanted to draft him. They failed to make a trade and move up to get him. And subsequently had to settle for Nagle instead. When Wolf went to GB, he insisted on getting Favre from Atlanta. For the next decade-and-a-half, Jets fans bemoaned the QB "who got away" - while Favre was having a HOF career, we were stuck with a revolving door of QB's. When we finally got Favre, it was waaaaay too late. The whole scenario reminds me a lot of this year's draft. Ryan and Tannenbaum identified Sanchez as a must-have QB. Only this time, they made it happen. They did what they had to do to get the player they wanted. Let's hope their evaluation of Sanchez was as spot-on as Wolf's evaluation of Favre!
i hope we see him for a while...unless he sucks, but i'm hoping he will be the franchise qb that we need.
When Sanchez begins to play well these homos are gonna be the first ones to swear they knew it was a good move... My guess is they were the part of the "draft Crabtree" crowd
