he's going to have to be one freaking genius of a head coach from game 1 to overcome his bone-headed decision making to this point. I say he is out after two seasons, and the franchise is set back a decade.
You even spelled it right. It?s gotta suck beeing a Broncos fan this year. edit, wtf do you wanna tell us with your ava?
Shanny ran this team into the ground for years. He was just praying Cutler would be the next Elway! The Broncos will be better than most expect. Sometime the defensive scheme needs to change more so then the personnel.
McDaniels is the biggest moron the broncos could have hired as the head coach. So far everything he has touched has turned to shit. Between cutler and the draft he's already set them back for at least another 5 years. Knowshon moreno is a great player but he's not the guy they needed at 12. running back was a reach as far as team needs are concerned. This team is fucked
Do you know WHY McDaniels drafted Moreno @ 12? He didn't feel comfortable with the quarterback situation in Denver, and wanted a running back to take pressure off of the QB. He didn't believe in the QB situation...after trading away a top 5 QB in the league. He is a clown
The weird thing is that at a first glance every decision made by McDaniels and Xanders looks stupid... but then if you look at the team (on paper) it isn't that bad... it depends a lot on if B. Marshall gets suspended for a lot of time but I think they have a pretty good team now (although at first I hated both the draft and FA)...
I don't thik McDaniels gets fired because honestly I think they will be pretty good next year, KC and the Raiders have decent pieces here and there, but the broncos are easily the 2nd best team in that division, any major injury for SD and DEN could sneak into the playoffs. They are better defensively than they were. And a ball control offense makes more sense for a team with defensive lapses than the style they had before.
The guy looks lost and distracted in every interview. I think Bowlen better be checked out for Alzheimers. This hire and what happened after it with Cutler shows me Bowlen is losing it. McDumbass will never get another shot as HC if this shit goes down the way i think it will.
Obviously it's all speculation. That's what most of the talk on a message board is. It's just funny to see the large majority of people think McDaniels is a fuck up and the minority who support him are almost all Pats fans. My opinion is that the owner should have fired him to keep Cutler because that's what he's going to end up doing after the 2010 season anyway. That's not speculation either, it's what will happen. Nostradomus said so.
My guess it that by game 6 the fans of Denver have signs saying "Bring back Shanny." McDaniel is def. in over his head and the Broncos are screwed under him.
Bowllan can't do it. He has to give mcdaniels time to amend his mistakes. If he dumps him after one season there would be no saving face for dumping Cutler. Mcdaniels has to get at least two years of complete disaster before Bowllan can fire him and save any kind of face.
Denver is not in as bad a position as people think. Lots of teams would take Clady and Harris as their tackles, and Hamilton, Kuper, and Wiegmann round out a pretty nice line. Marshall and Royal are a nice receiving tandem and Jabar Gafney and Stokley give them nice depth there. Right now they have Daniel Graham, Richard Quinn, Jeb Putzier and Scheffler at TE, although scheffler could be gone before the season starts. And their RB's are Knowshon, Lamont Jordan, Buckhalter, JJ Arrington, and Tatum Bell. Say what you want about Orton, but he threw for 3000 yards and had 18 TD's and 12 picks last year without any receivers. I'd say their offense if fine. The Broncos special teams was bad last year and you know McDaniels is going to improve on that. A guy like Bruton that they got in the fourth could be a good special teamer for them. And their defense was bad but they got Ayers and Alphonso Smith, both guys who Mayock loved, and they got Chris Baker as an undrafted FA to play the nose. I think they might be headed in the right direction.
You didn't mention that Cutler was the biggest part of the offense. And he is now gone. Mcdaniels put himself in a position to be raked over the coals unless Orton plays well enough to make the bronco fans forget Cutler. I doubt that will happen. You don't get rid of a young franchise QB like he did. And then he trades the Bronco first round 2010 draft pick for a second round pick which they used to pick a CB. If the broncos go 8-8, he will have traded a middle round first round pick for a high second round pick (5th) and moved down 20 spots with no compensation. One local sportscaster said that this trade will probably nullify the first round pick they got from the Bears. That will come back to bite him too. He deserves to have things backfire on him. He should have left the offense intact and upgrade the defense. http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_12234582
