Vince Young, quarterback, University of Texas, according to the ESPN.com poll

The poll is missing Leinart but still come on.

40 states and the world favor the Jets getting Young.

    1. Young
    2. Cutler
    3. Williams
    4. Hawk
    5. Davis

If this has been posted before just merge it.

All this proves is that non-Jets fans have no idea what is best for the Jets.

I posted this a while back. Something like 40 % of people polled say Young and 35%ish of NY/NJ people polled want him. Maybe the #'s go the other way around but still....I am somewhat amazed that so few of this board seem to want him. All I have been hearing about him lately is that he has the most upside on all the QB's but most JET fans don't seem to want to wait for him to develope and that I don't get. We have the time. I know some feel next year may be a play-off one but I don't see it. I want it but I don't see it. If he is there I want the guy. He kind of helps in 3ish positions: QB(duh), RB(the man can run), and OL(a stretch, I know, but he, at least, is not a sitting duck back there).

Like I said earlier, the majority of people watch the highlights and read the newspapers. If they don't show it, they don't know it...

    Hey I like that

The Jets will never draft Vince Young unless they trade way down, and even then I don't see it.

When I look at the Jets in 2007 and beyond, based on the current roster, here is what I see.
I cannot name our QB, feature running back, a receiver after Coles, anyone on the OL who might get pro bowl mention, anyone on the defense after Vilma and perhaps Ellis who might get pro bowl mention.
    Given this analysis (obviously yours may differ), my draft order is;
    A very good/great PRO
    QB
    Running back
    Defensive player
    Receiver
    OL.

I, however, cannot tell you from all the players who will be great as a pro. If any of the available QB’s are that player pick them at 4. If you know a running back that will be great at 4, pick them and so on. If D’brick is the only one who will be great at 4 then pick him. Of course, that still leaves the question of who will pass, run, catch and stop the other team from scoring. If you cannot be pretty sure that any of the top players will be very good/great than TRADE 4 for more picks and hope to get lucky. A team can go far into the playoffs with a great defense and only adequate offense (plenty of examples), a great running back can do little on his own (see barry sanders), great receivers can do little without a QB/OL (see Detroit), a single OLineman by himself cannot make a huge difference without good players at the skill positions, but a great QB can make an average team better than average.

Young just doesn't seem like the kind of guy that Mangini would want leading his team.

If we take any QB in round 1 it will be Cutler and it won't be at #4.

Honestly, i can't take the jets forum right now.

Why don't we wait 'till saturday like normal people do and we will know.

The friggin mock drafts are so annoying, very, very, annoying.

It was cute ( the first 100 mocks) now it's stupid.

When people ask me who I want the Jets to draft, I shrug. I really have no preference. The only guy I DO NOT want that is being mentioned at #4 is Cutler. I'd be pleased if we drafted either Mario, DBrick, Leinart, Young, or Davis. But I do think Davis at #4 is a reach, and I hope if we draft him, it would be after a trade down. I think I just trust the Jets new management. Tannenbaum won't mess this up.

My only hope is that if we do get him, that Jets fans pool together and support him for the good of the team. Reading some of the Anti-Vince Young posts on Jets forums, I'm not sure if people would do that. It really seems like people aren't so much saying he will fail, as they are ACTIVELY rooting FOR him to fail. I think that's the wrong way to look at things. Maybe I'm wrong and am misinterpreting it, I hope I am.

If hes there we have to take him. I dont give a shit what offense we run or what his throwing mechanics are. Hes a proven winner and with a year or 2 to sit he could learn the system and adjust his mechanics and then he will become a great QB in this league.

Damn not a single state in the USA has any clue what they're talking about... 0 of them had Williams! Mario would be the pick... unfortunately even NJ, NY, and the other states in the Northeast don't know what they're talking about. Stupid Bills fans...
