Washington more likely than Jones to be granted new deal By Matt Sohn - May 16, 2009 It?s a time of great uncertainty in the Jets? offensive backfield, with the unproven QB tandem of Mark Sanchez and Kellen Clemens, in addition to contractual melodrama at running back. No. 1 and No. 2 RBs Thomas Jones and Leon Washington are both skipping the club?s voluntary offseason program in search of new deals, yet their gripes couldn?t stray further apart. Jones is seeking a bump from the $900,000 he?s due to earn in 2009, but the relatively small salary doesn?t account for his front-loaded contract that paid him $13 million the past two years. Washington, meanwhile, is due to earn only $535,000 in the final year of the rookie deal he has clearly outperformed. The word we?ve been hearing since the draft is that Washington has more leverage with the club and that he?s the more likely of the two to get a new deal. For starters, the 26-year-old Washington is four years younger than Jones and is entering the prime of his career. For another, the club is guaranteed to have Jones under contract through the end of the 2010 season, whereas Washington could become an unrestricted free agent after the season with the passage of a new Collective Bargaining Agreement. As it stands now, Washington would be a restricted free agent after the season under the provisions of the current CBA for an uncapped year. Also, Washington?s wide array of skills as a ballcarrier, receiver and return man make him among the more versatile weapons in the league. Jones, on the other hand, is a more traditional running back, for whom the club believes it has a very viable alternative in rookie Shonn Greene. > http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/NFL/AFC/AFC+East/NY+Jets/WWHI/2009/wwhi051609.htm ______________
You are animal Kelly. Mr. Link is your new name but you have to inject your opinon, at least one sentence, to your posts. And its another obvious, no shit buddy article. TJ is not getting another contract, its been stated many times
I wish something will just happen with these contracts so I can stop hearing about it. It's pretty clear that TJ will not get a new contract unless both of these happen: Shonn Grenne is a complete bust and TJ has a spectacular year. But he doesn't deserve a new contract before the season starts
So the Jets might be more likely to give a new deal to a young, versatile back with a different skillset than the guy they just drafted than an older player with a similar skillset who they gave a lot of money to two years ago. Who knew.
Does anyone else notice she changes her signature with every new thread? And I highly doubt she is a real women. Why would she put her own picture in her avatar and her sig? No one else on this forum does that.
What pisses me off more than the pointless threads is how he/she won't ever tell us if he/she is a he or a she, even though you know he/she is reading this. You know what I mean?
Does it really matter whether or not he/she is a girl? I mean, its not like she has conversations with anyone.
Easy fix to this; Kelly – Nudes NOW. And while you’re at it – cook me a turkey pot pie before you end up with a black eye (or two if I have to say it twice)
Jones should honor his contract. He got the bulk of his money up-front, so I don't care if his 2009 salary is unsatisfactory. What are his demands?? He's over 30 and his best years are behind him.
naah , here ya go > http://a142.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/89/m_b58dcecdaefcf7df48ddd4f90f5eb1cd.jpg
I'm a huge Bree Olsen fan and Kelly does not look anything like her. Bree is hot and a woman and Kelly isn't either one.
Kelly never gives in or gives out more than we need to know. I bet this picture is probably more accurate:
I think you guys are just jealous that I'm the only one that Kelly responded to and that she sent me another pic. I can't believe how smooth I am... even on the internet !
