Favre's hatred for Ted Thompson must run pretty deep.....given that there was NO WAY he was going to have this surgery for the Jets.

I don't understand what was so bad about the Jets that he couldn't just play here instead. I get that he doesn't like NY but he's a family man and wherever he plays he's not going to be doing a lot of socializing. And if he has some hardcore need to be around other Southerners he's not going to get that in MN either so whats the point? And if he stayed with the Jets he would be getting $13M this year, no way he gets that much with the Vikes.

Why does everybody care so much? Is there really that much fascination?

As MBGreen said, it seems to be all about sticking it to the Packers, which strikes me as more than a little sad and pathetic.

    I kind of agree.

Then again, did we really want him back? No. He'd rather play for a team that would stick it to the Packers, and we'd rather have a quarterback who is going to be here for the long haul.

    And not suck, too.

You seriously don't know? Maybe you don't know much about the Vikings.

Favre knows the Minny coaches, in fact he has previously worked with both HC and OC, they both came through Green Bay. And not coincidentally they run a very similiar West Coast offense that he has played his whole career (save the one year here). They have a tough, tough D, the best running back in the league, a top notch O-line, and appear likely to have scored the Year One impact player of the draft this year, Percy Harvin. And to top it off, have one of the softest schedules in the league this year.

It only seems like "purely to stick it to the Packers" to people who don't know much about NFC football.
Yes. All those here who dissed him that he only came here for the $ will probably have to find a new line. Not that that one ever made any sesne in the first place (after all, this is the only guy in the NFL known to have turned down money -- $20m -- for NOT playing).

Could it be that the dude was honest all along, and just wants to keep playing as long as he can, and where there is a shot to win it all, at a place where the media, fans, and his own teammates rip him a new one repeatedly for bad play, even though he was playing (inidisputably, now) injured?

Nah. Can't be. That is too obvious.

Favre's antics are old. Play, retire, ponder, horde the media, rinse, and repeat. Its the Brett Favre circle of life.

I don't buy the argument about being familiar with the Vikings system. Every implementation of the WCO is different and BF already had a year in the Jets system so if he goes to the Vikes he will have to spend as much or more time learning the system there than he would have here.

The rest is just you masturbating to Brett. He turned down $20M for 10 years service in a PR function for Green Bay. It was not money for nothing there was a work requirement. And he already got $13M from the Jets last year and will prolly get enough out of the Vikes to surpass in 2 years what he would have gotten from GB in 10 years. I could take the time to go through the rest but at some point the grossness of you being in love with a complete stranger gets to me.

Favre is a douchbag who has tarnished his legacy.

I hope he falls flat on his face.

I only endorse the Favre comeback with the Vikings for one reason....and one reason only.

I drive down to Minny for 1 game a year with my buddies.....and this year....we have tickets to the Monday Nighter on Oct 5......Vikes vs. Packers.

If Favre comes back and starts for the Vikes in that game.....it will be a fucking gong show.

I'll make sure i bring a sign endorsing TGG in the hopes of getting on camera....maybe something along the lines of :

"TGG's MBGreen in Minneapolis - GETTING A FEEL FOR THE CITY"

Brett Favre....goodbye. I still hate him for not announcing he needed surgery, instead tanking the Jets season on a bad wing. Thanks Brett.

He played the Packers right out of the playoffs one year because he played with injury just to break the consecutive game record. The guy has always been about himself...
