did not see this posted so I might as well do the dirty http://www.nypost.com/seven/08062009/sports/jets/ryan__qb_battle_still_dead_heat_183265.htm "Ryan was so impressed with LB Vernon Gholston's work in the goal-line defense drills Tuesday that he said, "We're going to have him starting in goal line.""
Holy Shit. Ryan lost 20 pounds in 5 days. Dude, thats so bad for him. There is a way to lose weight, and a way not to lose weight. Im pretty sure what hes doing is not the way....
On the goal line, for the most part they're not even asking the man to run or change directions or make any decisions. Just be big and strong, so I should f***ing hope he can do that much. 8 times out of 10, all he has to do is stand his gap or shoot straight. If he can't do that, cut him now.
Nice to hear about Lowery, I think he and Lito will have a nice ongoing competition over the next year or two.
you missed the first article on this last week the drs are monitoring it besides it can't be no more unhealthy than already weighing 340
Mangini figured out he was a worthless slob. Now Ryan has figured out that he's improved just enough for his slobbery to possibly be effective on the goal line, where he doesn't have to think or change direction. That's all I'm saying.
That's some good praise, but let's hope he learned how to tackle properly and isn't going to be doing that arm-tackle shit on the goal line, because that won't cut it
When you're that overweight, the first 30 or 40 pounds will practically fall off. From there, it gets harder and harder with each pound you drop.
that's been done where he's had his hand in the dirt and standing up. Mangini did it a couple of times in the hybrid defense.
its cool. since Pace is gone for 4 games, Gholston has a great chance to at least show flashes of toughness and a will to want to succeed. its all mental - once he's not afraid of unleashing his athleticism he'll be able to dominate the game.
