$2 million per year could be considered a slap in the face by Leon. I'd say 4.5-5 is fair. They should settle this sooner than later.

I think this should get the deal done. If you think about it, a 5 year deal worth 4.5mil/year is almost as good as Washington getting a deal worth 6mil/season at the end of this year

    4.5mil/season starting this year
    2009 - 4.5mil
    2010- 4.5mil
    2011- 4.5mil
    2012- 4.5mil
    2013- 4.5mil
    Total- 22.5mil

6mil/season, with the contract being signed at the end of this season
    2009 - 500k
    2010- 6mil
    2011- 6mil
    2012- 6mil
    2013- 6mil
    Total- 24.5mil

Seems pretty fair to me. Someone posted this in the other thread, so I wasn't the one who thought of this.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but they ALL are.

The $4.5m is reasonable as long as he doesn't get hurt. That's always my fear with Leon, he's not that big a guy.

What does that even mean? What is your point? What did it have to do with the Jets?

Are you just posting for the hell of saying something, no matter how irrelevant?

Hope they clear this up soon. Without being an expert, I would say the 4.5m is a good offer.

I'm sure you'll figure it out...you're a smart "cheese head".

Anyways...back to topic....the 4.5 million offer is a suitable one....Leon should jump at this.

I already figured it out. You enjoy being a troll. You enjoy tweaking people without provocation at least as much as you do the Jets. Probably more. If someone you don't like for whatever reason is behaving fine on this board, talking Jets ... it eats at you for some bizarre reason, and you try, over and over again, dozens of times, to provoke them into becoming a piss ant like you.

Figured that out long, long time ago. it's not like you're the first loser that i've come across on an internet board. hope you're having fun. carry on.

Leon's agent seems like such a total dweeb. Per roto on Andre Smith:

Alvin Keels, the agent for unsigned first-round pick Andre Smith, submitted the Bengals a contract offer for his client on Wednesday.
"Sent over what I thought was a very good and fair proposal today!" Keels tweets. "Lets hope it does the trick. If not back to square one!" We'll go out on a limb and guess it won't be cheap enough for owner Mike Brown.

If Leon doesn't take $4.5 per, he's an idiot. He isn't worth more than $3, 3.5. He is a fool if he rejects this. Sign the deal, Leon, or you will receive no pity from me if we say F-U until 2010 or 2011.

If he rejects this deal, not only will I lose the respect I have left for Leon. But I will murder Alvin Keels for being the money grubbing bastard that planted the seed in the first place. Not really, but you get the point. Sure, he's Darren Sproles size; but he's not Darren Sproles. Take it, or get traded for a good receiver.

^^sproles is franchised for 6 mil.. he doesn't have a long term contract.

4.5 is more than the half way point between what they both want. So Leon's camp should meet the jets more than half way and take the deal.

4.5 for 5 years for a position that has an average shelf life of 3 years is more than impressive.
