Some people seem to think that since we got Da Brick, a LT, and since he's gonna start, that just means that Adrian Jones, who played LT for us last year, will be out of the picture. What people seem to be forgetting is that Adrian Jones is really a RT, that was the position he played for us his first game last year. It was only when Fabini starting screwing up all over the place at LT when we decided to move Jones there, a move that was the best the team could do at that point. Now that we have a true LT, we can have Jones back at his real position, RT. We don't really have a major need anywhere on the line anymore, if we draft any lineman tommoro it'll most likely be just for depth.
Adrian Jones tried out RT last year; and he did horrible. I'm all for giving him a shot at right tackle, and i hope he does well.
Great pick at 4 D'Brick will be our franchise Left tackle for years to come. Move jones to right and hope he gets better.
He's more of a natural left tackle. I don't think he showed he was really capable at either last year though. He'll get a shot at RT, but I'm not counting on him being a starter.
Jones does not have the run blocking ability to be a good RT in this league... having Jones and Ferg as our OTs would be paradise for our QB but hell for the running game. It could happen and likely will but the line would be better off with a new RT coming in and possibly moving Adrian Jones to one of the guard slots or keeping him on the roster as depth.
Jones was horrible at LT. So big deal he was alittle bit better at LT then he was at RT, he still was no where near starting LT caliber.
Jones is ok at RT, if we draft O'callaghan they can compete for that spot, and may the best man win, plain and simple. If jones gets beat, then we would have a hell of a Oline starting and backing up.
I wish we had a really big guy at RT. That's why I don't like the trade down or the Clemens pick--we could have taken a good OT at either of those positions.
Yeah, and I'm sure after taking an OT and a C with our first 2 picks you would've been real pissed taking another OT in the 2nd round. Hindsight is 20/20. Give Clemens a chance. He's got a great last name for New York sports.
Jones is a LT who they thought could play RT. However, he proved last yr, he was about as effective as a orange pilon would be at either position.
Orange Pilons are cheaper on the salary cap. We could have got the same level of play for $2.95 on the salary cap if we kept Jones.
