imo beside Leon washington( who i think can be better pro than college player) and PJ danials. your better off just waiting till next years draft to get curtis replacement. what sucks is that a young rb could used curtis and learn from him. and obviously if we tryed to trade for jones. we dont think blaylock and houston are anything more than backups which i agree with.

It's defo a position of need for us, but its interesting to note Mangini and Tanny were trying to fix the position through FA rather than draft anyone. The two standout RB's for me in this draft are the two SC boys, one who shoulda went at no 1., and the other who is talented but seemingly has character issues.

In other words maybe there is noone outside of Reggie Bush that sticks out for the Jets FO in the RB position...else we would have someone by now. It is possible, though, as you say, that we will pick up someone to develop at the position in the second day.

Schlegel: "...has gone wild boar hunting with dogs and a knife" You gotta love this pick. He sounds intense if not nuts.

i never want to see a olineman drafted in the 1st again after this year. we may have a oline now but guess what folks we still dont have any skill players. but as long as chad stays upright we should be able to enjoy all those 35 yard floaters he calls deep balls.

he was originally from the Air force.. its obvious the guy is a machine. if he ran a 4.5 or even a 4.6 he would be and amazing pick. even a 4.7 but the guy a ran a 4.9 thats what concerns me. Between him and kassell and vilma there should be plenty fights in training camp this year.

By exciting this guy is talking media exciting. So the answer is yes. I could give a rats ass if the Jets did not make the sexy pick. As a player Leinart did't excite me. Clemens and Schlegel are intense - football mentality excitement. Tell me you don't love a guy who goes wild boar hunting with a knife. Explains why the guy is a great tackler.

A football field is what, maybe sixty yards wide. An inside LB is maybe 5 - 10 yrds away from the offensive line. He is approximately 30 yards away from the sideline. In a football game you don't start from a starting line. It's all about anticipation, angles, intensity. You don't need a timed 4.5sec ILB. The B Cox comparisons are there. My understanding is that Cox still hasn't finished his forty.

When the 'boys took Marion Barber last year it was apparent they aren't sold on Jones as the franchise RB. If we could nab him for next years 3rd rounder or even Washington's 2nd, I think we should pull the trigger.

Having said that, we still have 3 RBs on our roster - Martin still can rush for 1,000 yards (especially with a better line and more balanced passing attack), Blaylock and Houston are a solid 1-2 punch

Fuck the media. Honestly, complaining because the Jets draft "bored" them? If they had taken Leinart over Ferguson, there would be at least one or two of these sports writers bitching that the Jets have too much money locked up in the position with nobody to protect them.

No, I'm against drafting exciting players over players that are much more important to your team.

If we don't get a legit starter, Martin will DEFINATELY be back. Plus, Blaylock and Houston are indeed backups, but as a 1-2 punch to complement Martin, we are OK at RB, not great. I would have loved to take Maroney or Williams at #29 (and pray that Mangold dropped to our second round pick).

Sounds like the kind of guy you'd like to send after the Dolphin runningbacks on a cool November afternoon.

Is there, like, some other well known guy out there named Leinhart? Honestly, what's up with that?

    Next up: Kellen Klemmons. :breakdance:

It seems as if a few of these writers have vastly different opinions n the Jets draft. I loved the fisrt 3 picks. I don't understand why the media is ignoring the last 2......

It's not the Giants did anything special, they got a guy that was absolutely pasted by D Brick and a slot WR that will be great Eli can get him the ball downfield.

    Imagine the Bills writers...... sheesh
