Yeah I didn't like the hairstyle. I've seen him on TV almost every year so his looks weren't much of a surprise for me except for the hair.
Wait, You mean he looked fine as in, He looked normal, ok? or He Looked FIIINE Girlfriend? if the latter, I rebuke you!
Namath slouched when he was a kid. He has always slouched. As for how he looked, well he got the crap beat out of him for 12 years or so plus he didn't exactly take good care of himself. The average life span for an NFL player is comparably young compared to the general population. Even so, he is still the face of the franchise and I think it was great that he was there today for Sanchez first start. It was very symbolic. Then when Sanchez mentioned the pre-game talk he had with Namath, well that was just great. Today was a great day for the Jets. Why do people need to find fault with it???? Namath being at the game was part of the greatness of the day. Let it go.
You're barking up the wrong tree esse. I actually wasn't complaning. I was just stating how I had to do a double-take to make sure that really was Joe Willie. That's all. We all gotta get old at one time or another. He showed it. I too found it inspirational/symbolic that he gave the pep talk to Sanchez, was in the building for his first start, and cheered when he connected with Stuckey for his first pro TD. It was a great day for the Jets indeed. I have no complaints.
I don't recall hearing Joe doing this for Chad, or Todd, or Nagel. Am I wrong? Not that it matters Joe was, and ever shall be, THE New York Jet. Here's hoping that Sanchez can make his own legend.
I'm not sure myself. But like it was mentioned, it felt like a passing of the torch. Hopefully they he has the same kind of success and brings home a (few) championship for the franchise.
Yeah he looked awful. I didn't even know who he was when he was first on the screen. It was kinda sad.
It's great to see Broadway Joe at the game. But I hate to say this. Doesn't his face look like one of those old Troll dolls that Alexei Kovalev use to have when he played on the NY Rangers in the 1994 Cup championship year? Not trying to diss on Joe, because it's awesome to see him & hopefully he will come back up here to say goodbye to the stadium and to see Sanchez play alot more than a few a year.
