No way he's benched for two years. If the Jets aren't that good in 2006, and that's fairly likely, he'll be playing by the end of the year. The FO seems to be very high on him.

Do we really need a thread every 153 minutes that just says, "Yay, we got Kellen Clemens, yay."?

Hell yeah, picking up Clemens was great. Would've had a first round grade had he not broken his ankle, so I think the Jets got a steal with him.

I don't know enough about him yet and want to see him play before I "sign on" with him.

Clemens was hurt, and didn't participate in the combine because of it. Jaworski says he would have been the 4th ranked QB had he not gotten a broken ankle last year. I don't know much about him, but I did see some clips. most scouting reports say his arm strength isn't good, but I've also seen some (fewer) that say it's fine. Based on the videos I saw, I'd say his arm looks pretty good. He sure throws with more velocity and zip than Chad EVER had. Better arm than Leinart too.

Good at buying time in the pocket with his feet, and hangs in there when he knows he'll get hit after he releases. He has a very fast release. The comparisons to Akili Smith and Harrington are off base though, Tedford left Oregon, so he (and his system) have had little to do with Clemens.

It seems that the Vikes were prepared to take him in the second round, thus the trade up. If he's the real deal, yeah, I could see him getting some playing time late in the 2006 season. He's supposed to be a pretty smart kid.

After watching who knows how many passes get thrown back in Brooks' face, I'm a bit worried about a 6'-2" QB. If this kid was 6'-4 or 5", then I'd be all warm and fuzzy like alot of you guys.

It should be interesting, I don't think he is the next Montana but I think he has the ability to become a solid starter in the league.
