all of the power rankings are going to have the patriots ahead of us because they beat Baltimore (which was #1 on most of the power rankings). We should still be ahead of the patriots because we beat them and have the same record while loosing our only game to a 4-0 saints team
I just don't like that our defense gave up 10 points and they will be charged with 24. Bullshit statistical system.
I don't get why people would get so worked up over something like this. Who cares? The Jets look good and are about to filet the fish.
Week 4 Power Rankings mean nothing, nothing at all. Oh, Week 17 Power Rankings also mean nothing. Play the game.
IF power ratings truly mean nothing then take them down from the front page of this site. There were 2-3 articles saying where the Jets were in the rankings after the wins over the Pats and Titans. Don't feed the pigeons so to speak.
I think this is my take, too. Just win. Everything else will take care of itself. Power rankings won't put you in the playoffs.
that's because people who do place importance on power rankings to feel good about themselves started those threads. that doesn't mean they are indicative of everyone and the site itself has a preference either way and should ban or encourage the discussion of them. I hate to break this to you, there isn't a body that starts threads and dictates what we discuss. anyone can do so, no matter how f'ing stupid the topic, just as anyone can respond to that topic, no matter how f'ing stupid their response is, as you have just shown us. christ, even when the posts aren't whines from those with the emotional stability of children they still have the intelligence of bread.

Well aware that anyone can start a thread on the topic. I never respond on that particular topic but to see it on the front page of the site after most posters have stated the opinion that they are meaningless makes it seem like there is a legitimate purpose to the power rankings which there is not.
Power Rankings are like horoscopes or the little wise saying in a fortune cookie at Won Hong Lo. They can sometimes be entertaining but are always completely meaningless.
Not that it matters one way or the other but Peter King still has the Jets in front of the Pats. 6 and 7. Seriously I doubt the Jets drop much after that performance. Everybody saw their defense shut down Drew Brees on the rug in the dome at home. That means a lot.
