Quote from Yahoo! Draft Grades on the Jets:

"And they landed a very productive defensive player in Ohio State LB Anthony Schlegel, who I read hunts wild boars with a knife. Give the boar a knife, too, and I'd be impressed."

I think I like the fact that we got an LB who has the balls to hunt wild boars with a knife.

Damn, I thought I found something new haha. Guess I haven't been surfing the board enough. And I definitely read a lot of people who thought we took him too high or that he's not fast enough etc etc. Whatever...I'm excited about this kid.

IMO the FO panicked a little in the 3rd.. IMO they were planning on taking Cogong with the first 3rd rounder & Schlegal with the last pick of the day..

the reason that doesnt make any sense is if they wanted cogong. why would the trade the pick to philly that drafted him. you think they didnt know who philly wanted when they traded up?

Schlegel "haters"? Don't be silly. It's perfectly ok for someone to think that Schlegel wasn't a great pick.

tell me about it, seriously, hes the same kind of guy who brings parachutes to sky dive. what a douchenozzle. you need to stare death in the face, laugh at how your going to kick his ass, then tell him what you laughed at and kill him.

hunting wild boars with a knife, sounds like Edwards Training Camp

Yeah I do think something fishy went on between those two teams. Gil Brandt has been saying all day today that the Jets had Cogong on the phone and told him they were gonna draft him.. Anyway who cares its over now and overall there seems to be the consensus that the young FO handled themselves like pros on draft day..

Psshh.... I hunt wild boars with a magnifying glass. That's right, I burn them to death with it.

In all seriousness though, I've been wild boar hunting many many times and I would never even think about going without at least my .357. They are wicked fast and tear hunting dogs to shreds. Not to mention they have grisl plates along their sholuders that can actually repel bullets. Not a very nice animal, but very tasty.

I know nothing about the kid and am willing to give him a chance, looking forward to it actually. The fact that he hunts boar to me is pretty cool, but leave the knife in the locker room please. How many yards would that penalty cost us???

the front office did not panic.they knew that goocong came from a smaa school system and they had more faith in schlegel who came from a big ten school that had great linebackers [hawk.carpenter,schlegel].I like the pick for the jets.this guy fits their 3-4 defense to a tee.he resembles tedy bruchi in many ways.

I don't like the fact that he is a 25 year old rookie. Other than that he should be a decent player.
