Recently-signed Justin Miller, benched last week, probably won't be active. But the coaches raved about his performance at cornerback in today's practice.

    WHAT!?

Edwards has dropped a couple of passes including the 2 pointer which there's no excuse for dropping if you're a sure handed receiver, and he's fumbled another ball on the move.

Drops and fumbles are part of the equation with him. He had 3 fumbles in his big 80 catch season 2 years ago. All of that said he brings something to the offense, not on a Terrell Owens level (another prominent receiver with iffy hands and ball control issues) but on a poor man's TO level.

If the Jets had to choose to keep one of Cotchery and Edwards and draft a replacement for the other it's an easy choice: Edwards hits the street in that situation.

Yea I was surprised when I heard Rex and Westhoff raving about his performance on defense. They said he had a couple of INT's.

It seems like his only chance of being active is to be able to contribute on defense as well as special teams. He obviously knows that.

I'm really trying to give this coaching staff a few years before I give up on them, but coaching decisions like this are stupid. Yes, I know it's a much needed win. Yes, I know who we're playing.

Cotchery is the most reliable offensive option on the team. He's not the elite WR that Edwards is, nor is he the "keep giving me the ball" option Jones is. What he is though, is a sure-handed pass catcher who fights for YAC. A player defenses have to respect; critical for an offense featuring a rookie with INT problems with a supporting cast that fluctuates between amazing acrobatic catches, and beer-league softball drops.

If we don't have anyone else who is lower on the totem pole who can reliably catch the ball then why is anyone else suiting up on Sunday? Where's the fan fave Woodhead? How about Smith? Clowney? Lowery? Sheppard (who isn't doing shit else anyway)? Coleman? (I assume Wright is injured but I don't recall hearing that one way or the other.) Shit, why bring in Miller to return punts then not use him?

Someone remind me of this garbage next time I bitch about Leonhard waving for fair catches...

Yea, that's a fucking scarey quote isn't it.....I thought so too when I read it...

We've all seen Miller's work at corner.....he sucks.

I am not sure where the concern for a player getting hurt returning punts exists? When you tune in on Sunday do we see returners going down all the time?? We are 4-5 and can't played scared in anyway, if Cotchery gives us the best chance to make a game changing play on punt returns then he needs to be back there.

Have you seen Lito Sheppard, Dwight Lowery, or Drew Coleman lately?

Miller probably looks like Asomugha around those guys. (Though I still prefer Lowery over his weak competition.)

I can recall 3 drops off the top of my head and a fumble. He had the same problems in Cleveland as he does here.

That is so true. I cant believe how much money were wasting on Lito to play like garbage as well. No wonder Philly he was so easily obtained from Philly....

What about woodhead that kid isnt good enough to be on the practice squad. Hes a media phenom because he was undrafted and a little white guy but theres a reason no one wanted him.

I recall Miller created a nice buzz about his play during training camp in '07. But then the games started...

Maybe they'll just put him in there to snap Brady's knee in half for one play.

I think they should strap explosives to Danny Woodhead and have him run over to the Pats sideline and give them the ole Allah treatment. Those Pro Day measurables have to be worth something.
