That's okay. At least they got somebody to compete with Jonathan Wells for the starting position (because we all know Domanick Davis will be placed on IR after a preseason game injury).

This is basically just a depth signing. Listening to their GM in interviews he thinks the team has some great offensive talent in place (and he does - but nothing like Bush) and needed that dominant pass rusher to help build a 4-3 defense.

If you broke both of Reggie Bush's legs he's still be better then Smith.

He's calling him injury-prone... which is true but the odds of Davis being on the IR before week 1 are extremely improbable. He's not on the Madden cover you know...

Jonathan Wells is an UFA, it's in the article.

    Nothing.

The Texans passed on Bush, partly because they have Davis. The Texans have been ridiculed by many people for passing up Bush.

So can't you see it now? Davis gets injured and the Bush passing becomes even worse.

Davis brought them 1,000 yards each year behind that o-line. just imagine what he could do in KC or Denver.

The Texans are pretty well off at running back, apart from Davis they've got 2nd year player Vernand Morency who they took in the 3rd round last year. And Smith is a good hard runner who is great as a guy coming off the bench.
