I'm glad you brought this up, because in Henne's first game against the Jets, his QB rating was a paltry 130.4. Sanchez's was 87.5. In the second game, Sancez was 100.5, Henne was 87.8. For the 2 games, Henne had a combined rating that was 30 points higher than Sanchez. In summation, Henne out played Sanchez. But we all knew that based on Miami's 2-0 record against the Jets in 09'.
So now that a pretty good reason has been given for the "higher ceiling" comments, you are going to change the argument completely. Well done.
After 6 sicks he had a net total of 52 yards with a 2.4 yards per pass. If you add the sacks in there- Real impressive- Seriously this argument is pointless in a Jet forum, go back to finheaven and enjoy the viruses you get.
In Sanchez's 2 starts against Miami he led his O to 52 points, in henne's 2 starts against us he led his O to 39 points.
Higher Ceiling? That's a made up way of measuring a QB. Measuring a "higher ceiling" is based purely on speculation and conjecture. It's the only "stat" that Jets fans can use to justify using a 1st, 2nd and 3 other players to get a QB that has thrown 17 ints in 11 games.
Alot of good those 59 points did the Jets. How many of those points were set up by bogus PI calls. IIRC it was 2 TD's.
wow bogus PI calls are now apart of this conversation. you're an utter failure. I will not thank you for your post.
Yep... thats why I qualified it by saying in his starts. He didnt start that game. He was thrown in mid way through the 3rd quarter after Pennington got hurt. When evaluating any QB, I think its best to look at his starts, when he was getting the full amount of reps and practicing with the 1st team and what not...
and your OL particularly Jake Grove was holding Jenkins all game and still got plowed. boo fucking hoo FOR ANYONE WHO HASNT READ AND WANTS TO CATCH UP. Phins Fans: Henne is better than Sanchez look look the numbers say so! Jets Fans: Henne has looked surprisingly good this year, but were satisfied and confident Sanchez will be a good franchise QB Phins Fans: waaaahhhh!!!! we want to hear you say that Henne is better. Jets Fans: fuck off
Stats don't really matter. What matters is accuracy, decision making, and athletic ability. Sanchez is a good athlete with good mobility, is accurate on intermediate and deep throws. He struggles on short touch, and his decision making has had him forcing some throws. We saw what he should be doing right before he got injured. Some of this is on the OC, the gameplanning. Instead of using the run to set up the pass in some instances, Schotty chose to put it on Sanchez early, and he proved he is not ready for that. That being said, more than once this season, late in games, he has led the O down the field for a TD, only to see the D give up the lead. One of those late drives came against the phins. About the draft picks, I see you throw the first rounder in. When in actuality all the Jets did in the first round is swap positions with the Browns. They gave up players who were expendable. Who out of that group would be starting in NY? Bowens? Elam? Trusnik?....It was an excellent trade.
Correct, but you still used that #5 pick on Sanchez, hence my including it in the rundown of what the Jets spent on him.
Namath, 1 more career wins than losses, under 65 QB rating, 50% completions, and most of that padded stats in a much weaker conference, makes the HOF based on 1 game against a team that ended up mediocre the following year. This old drunk couldn't hold Marino's jockstrap. Just sayin.
Different times, different game. The stats can't be compared. Marino was a great QB but didn't have the moxy to get it done when it mattered. Joe did.
