There would be a bigger splash in the media if he said "no comment" then there is with what he did say. He handled it fine
Because you don't care what he has to say doesn't mean no one cares what he has to say. Joe is the reason that many people became Jets fans.
I read the article, I know what he said. If you read what I wrote you'd know I have no problem w/ what he said he just shouldn't have said it b/c of the way the headline writers will twist it. No one cares what Joe has to say, if people did he'd still be in broadcasting.
Why did you read the article if you didn't care. Why did your comment on it if you didn't care. If nobody cared why is there a thread on it? If nobody cares why did it get a banner headline? The facts seem to point that you care deeply so deeply you want to take a shot at Namath because deep down it hurts you that you didn't see him play and all you have is stats to bloody his legend with.
"No one" doesn't literally mean "no one". Obviously there are some people that care but most people do not care.
I watched the Jets America's Game episode this week. It's remarkable how many of the problems Namath had that year are similar to Sanchez. Couple of 5-pick games and carelessness with the football undoing great defensive work. DC furious with QB. Seemed they calmed him down, sorted that out and went all the way...
i was thinking the same exact thing...every always brings up the Curse of Namath, so maybe this is the curse being broken. I cannot recall Namath ever publicly questioning a statement by a Jets head coach especially one regarding the superbowl. I look at this as a serious +
Unfortunately I don't remeber seeing Y.A and Namath is still the best QB who ever wore a NY professional football jersey that I ever saw. I do still rate him higher than Tarkenton and Simms. If I had seen Y.A. you might well be right.
Know what? I don't see anything wrong or incorrect with what Joe said. Having said that though, I also think that Joe Willie Namath is the last fucking guy who should be throwing cold water on a bold statement made by a Jets coach with the obvious intent of firing up his team and making them believe. Call me nuts if you like, but I don't agree with Namath at all. I think that if this team gets by Cinci, and I believe they will, that they can dance with anybody in this thing. What kind of game was Jets v NO minus the Sanchez turnovers? How about the Indy game before they pulled Manning ? I don't recall either of those being blowouts. The Atlanta game was a close game...look at the scores of the Atlanta games with everbody else in this thing, they were close games. The Pats kicked our ass, and they would scare me, but they are down Welker and Brady is nursing a rib issue and will have to face Baltimore. Ever have a cracked/broken rib? I have..Brady will be a little off. With that and Welker, that will change their game. Remember the first 3 games? That fire is back in this team again.....and Sanchez is a lot smarter and better prepared. Rookie QB or not, I think this team, in the right frame of mind, can dance with anybody at this shindig. Bring it.
i COULD GO WITHOUT THE ALABAMA TITLE WIN. JETS PLAYOFF WIN WOULD BE GREAT JETS JETS JETS JETS. LETS GO DEFENSE
I am so glad we beat the COLTS. I can not stand seeing Mercury Morris on ESPN talking about the 72 Phins. F*ing coke head! :jets:
This is just more fuel to the fire. Ryan will tell the team, even past players for the Jets don't believe in this team.
