Firstly, do you need a defintion of the term "felon"? Does Vick have a felony conviction anywhere in his record? Secondly, while I'm sure that you probably hear voices all the time, maybe you could produce a single article showing that the Phins invited a convicted rapist to camp?

I think it's a moronic comment. We're not talking about a bunch of Michael Irvins here. Other than Randy McMichael, how many starters do the Phins have who have faced charges? How many of our regular roster players? If Saban wants to try out some marginal players for the practice squad, I see no problem so long as those players aren't actual criminals.

Turns out you invited Abram Elam to camp last year,he was convicted of sexual battery but was acquitted of a rape charge.

Either way it's pretty clear the fins have no problems signing guys who aren't upstanding members of society.

First you don't understand the meaning of the word "felon", now you don't understand the meaning of the word "sign". Did we sign Elam to anything more than training camp fodder? Did we sign Vick? How many criminals have we signed? Is english your first language?

    Daunte Culpepper-sex boat
    Channing Crowder (twice)-http://www.palmbeachpost.com/sports/content/sports/epaper/2005/08/07/z13b_incidentreports_0807.html
Had David Boston and Ricky starting at one point
Manual Wright had some character issues which caused him to enter the supplemental draft
    Then all these signings...

I'm not saying it's necesarrily a bad thing, I mean if Saban can handle them why not try them out? But there is a trend going on...

Yeah, go ahead and pin all of the Jets future hopes on Saban signing a bunch of convicts. See how far that gets you. Good call...

He wasn't saying anything about the Jets hopes he was just observing some of the Dolphin's aquisitions over the last few years, and how they are risky moves, they also tried to trade for Watson but Moore couldn't pass his physical, Watson was in trouble not so long ago as well. They are facts its not like we are making this stuff up so why be so defensive, maybe it will work out maybe it won't

Sweet Jesus, do you people actually read? We didn't sign Vick. What "signings" are you refering to? Daunte Culpepper was found to have done NOTHING wrong on the "sex boat". Not even a misdemeanor. Likewise, Wright fell because of a shoulder injury, NOT because of legal problems. Christ, it's like swimming in ignorance.

The fact that you worked them out shows that you have no problem against signing them. Why else would you work them out if you weren't giving some thought to signing them?

So they may be long shots to make the roster, you still invite guys to camp with the possibility of them making special teams or the practice squad. It is clear to all that Saban has no problems with guys with questionable character issues.

Risk versus reward. Saban is looking to see if they are good enough to overcome minor issues. Quite honestly, any GM or coach would do the same, the only difference is where they draw the value line. Name any GM in the league and I can guarrantee you that if the player is sufficiently talented, they would overlook some off field issues. The question becomes not whether they have done anything off the field, but whether those actions are behind them or not, and whether they are good for the team. Take Channing Crowder for instance.

It's true that every team has players with problems off the field, but it just seems that the fins have a few more than most teams(except the Bengals).

Tbh though, the only moves that i will criticise the fins for are the Elam signing and welcoming Ricky back.I'd be very angry if we had a guy who was aquitted of rape and found guilty of sexual battery on the Jets, and you just can't trust ricky.

I agree that signing anyone like that is a mistake. I took a year off from the Phins when we signed Cecil Collins. But the fact is that Elam isn't on the team, and was never more than camp fodder. As for Ricky, he only ever hurt himself. I can't even blame him for retiring year before last. If I had to face another season playing for Wanny behind that crap O-line I would have retired too.

LOL...and now Vick is a Phin. I don't like it, but I'll wait to pass judgement until he shows whether he has gorwn up in the last year. Hopefully this isn't a case of Saban's ego writing a check his players can't cash. Eitehr way, I'm going to spend the next five days in Disney World, so I'll worry about it when I get back...cheers.
