This blog actually makes me happy. I know that sounds crazy. At first I had the same reaction until it dawned on me. Rex is getting into people's heads. He's causing knee jerk reactions. These bloggers aren't the only ones who have heard Rex speak, the players are well aware...he's probably in their heads too.
For some reason, I don't think the Chargers players are waiting on Ryan's every word. Just like the Jets players don't give a crap about what Merriman says. Just like they didnt care about what OchoCinco said. The Chargers mind set boils down to two words: quiet confidence.
Total east coast bullsh*t. He got this misguided rep primarily from the Cutler ordeal. Cutler has since proven he is just the a** we all have been saying he is for years. I do not think the Jets are a brash team, and I am not putting down the Jets confidence, but I have watched every play of every game for the past decade or more of this team - and the persona of this team is unlike any other season. May mean f*ckall come gametime, I don't know. I am just stating my personal informed opinion. (Oh, and it really is too bad he has a bit of confidence in his skills. It's not like he has turned in the two best back-to-back statistical QB years in history...oh, wait...)
East coast bullshit from someone who has lived in southern california his entire life... nice one. I've watched a lot of Chargers games, and I'll admit that Rivers has calmed down a lot recently, but that dude definitely loves to talk shit and is a very emotional player. Quiet confidence is definitely not his forte.
I was referring to the entire team, stemming from the lack of any comments whatosever from the players on this game. You are correct, he is fiery, and I like that...but he feeds on his own players success, not putting down them when they drop passes or don't perform (cough, cough, Sheli, Cutler...). SoCal, eh? Don't want to intrude, but how could you be a Jets fan if you've lived here all your life?
Merrimen also isn't on the back page of every NY Newspaper and in ESPN highlights. They don't have a choice, thanks to the media when Rex talks they hear it. Ocho was in Revis' head, he admitted it after the first matchup saying he felt disrespected. Guys have been talking about owning him all year T.O., Moss...the only problem is that he plays better when he's angry. You can only hope he isn't in their heads
Probably why no one on the Bolts is giving anything else but praise for him. Ocho, while entertaining, may just have a legitimate sub-50 IQ.
Okay my bad didn't realize that's what you were referring to. Anyway, I didn't want to blindly like a team because I lived close to them or because my father liked them (he was a Vikings fan). I just chose to follow the Jets at the start of the 1998 season for a reason I can't even remember and after 12 years of watching them I'm probably a bigger fan than 99% of the fans that live in New York. I have sunday ticket so I see all their games and I also fly to NY to watch a game once a year. I went to the SD game last year too, can't make it to the playoff game this Sunday though...
the same persona that caused the general manager to question your teams toughness? riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight
I honestly couldn't care less about this. It would have been nice and probably correct if Revis got the award, but this is stuff for people like Adam Schein to worry about, who vote on these things to inflate their own self importance. All that matters to Revis is shutting down this week's WR, I'd bet my house on that.
You are correct. We are all soft in SoCal. It is like an immigration screening procedure. Everyone who lives here must be soft, or they are deported. hmy: We'll see who the "softer" team is this sunday, I guess, won't we?
