Braylons thoughts about now and the run up to when he got traded. The bit I like about this article (and so many other Jets have said this) is that how the players really ENJOY playing football once again. For any FAs or draftees that are looking for a team, The Jets must be fairly high on alot of radars. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/19/sports/football/19rhoden.html?partner=rss&emc=rss
Edwards gets it. I certainly view him as being enthusiastic about staying with the Jets. I hope he does.
I want him back as well but I think the price for him matters alot! He drops alot of key passes but he also stretches the D. If we could just find someone who could do both we would be golden!
I want him back big time. the guy blocks his ass off, and provides us a deep threat teams have to plan for. people dont realize, hes never been through a Jets Training Camp yet. a solid offseason with Sanchez, and WR Coach Henry Ellard will do him a world of good. contract wise im thinking something in the lines of 4.5 Mil a year with some incentives to bump it up big time. I mean if he meets them nobody would be bitching. we'll see. but most of all he genuinely just loves playing the sport and being here. and you cant ask more of a player, especially at the NFL level.
Well he will be back next year I have no doubts. A first and third round tender will be cheaper than what we are paying him this season. So I have no doubts what so ever he is tendered very high.
I've supported Edawrds this whole season, just like a running back that takes a few carries to get going, it takes players like Edwards some momentum to get going. This year I only expected him to get 40-60 yards a game with a few spectacular catches--which we've seen. This guy was drafted #3 overall for a reason, he is an elite talent and capable of being a top 5 WR in the NFL. I can't wait to watch him next season, he has the 2 most important ingredients to be an All-Pro, god given talent and the desire to get better. I love the comments he made about blocking, would a Randy Moss say that?
I really cannot wait until his drop label goes away, he's had 4 drops all season, people just remember them because we pass so little.
the play that made me realized i wanted him back was in week 17, when sanchez threw the ball to cotch for that 'run' TD in trips formation. He made a nice block and when cotch got in, there was no one more excited than braylon. sounds like a true team player.
I always love to read about how the players truly feel, not just the one word answers given in post game press conferences. It means a lot to me when these players love and appreciate being a New York Jet. I want Braylon back, and I think he'll stay. The drops are a problem, but it's nothing that he can't work on and otherwise he is a true stud WR. The intangibles he brings to this team are invaluable as well. His blocking on tosses and slants are flawless and he seems to be a great teammate.
He blocks well, catches better in traffic, and has the drive. The drops will get better, Edwards is a keeper.
I also want him back next season.... I think an offseason of work with sanchez will do both of them wonders. Add a good slot receiver and this receiving corps will be down right filthy
So true Reading this brings a tear to my eye because at the end of the day, all anybody asks for is a chance. I'm glad that he is getting his chance and I hope it makes him a better PERSON for it.
nobody will go for that the Jets know what theyre doing. theyll do everything outside of give him an insane contract. and for the team that is willing too we get a 1st and 3rd. this draft is too deep for a team looking to rebuild to fork it over. not a surprising move on the jets behalf. i want him back too alot, you dont give up what we did this year just to let him walk.
This says about all I would. I've been a big fan of him since the trade, and haven't changed my opinion. Just wait till he's had an offseason with Sanchez. It will be fun to watch.
I agree with Coach K. They wouldn't have giving up so much to have the guy for half a season. He will be back. And he will be a better player next year. He is vital to this offense, drops or not. Opposing defenses know he is out there. Regardless of how many times Sanchez throws the ball.
